Oxium is a performance oriented synthesizer, offering both classic instruments with a pure analog sound and modern ones, and unseen real time modulations capabilities, allowing you to play a synthesizer in some musical ways you could never have imagined.
Due to its simple and intuitive user interface Oxium is fast and easy to operate: Classic instruments : Use up to 8 Xils-lab thick and singing oscillator wave forms per patch (2 main oscillators with up to 4 waveforms stack) and shape them with the double filter structure. The main filter unit uses Xilslab 3rd generation zero-delay feedback filter with self-oscillation is each mode, while the second offers a voweliser formant mode in addition to high-pass, band-pass and low-pass modes. Modern instruments : In addition to the LFOs with cumulative waveforms, the three D-ADSR envelopes, Oxium includes our brand new Le Masque modulator in its last incarnation, with many additional features : It has now 16 freely drawable zones, horizontal and vertical quantize modes, two level parameters, a zoom mode (up to 32 bars long) and, of course, you can save, load and exchange your Masque patterns. Intuitive User Interface : Oxium interface is based on a new "Flower" design and IVF (Instant Visual Feedback) concept. "Flower" design for the oscillators, filter, LFOs and glide blocks means that you can understand the structure of a whole block after a simple glance (IVF), making Oxium fun, fast and easy to understand and to master. In addition, all the modulations are handle in a central page, with additional easy knobs, including usual musical gestures prepatched: It has never been so easy to add a Vibrato, a Tremolo or an AutoWha to your sound. Serial number protection : Oxium is protected by a simple serial number (No dongle, no C/R ). Two different skins to fit your current feeling ! Oxium detailed features : Core Modules

Oxium demo by Boele Gerkes http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p3A6WiUyuL4 Also in Mp3 format : http://www.xils-lab.com/audiosample/Oxium/Oxium_Gerkes_Song. mp3 Here what Boele wrote on the Youtube page ( Where you can read also a very nice minireview of Oxium he made ) " Demosong for the XILS-lab soft synth Oxium, using also the very cool modulation delay LeMasque. Recorded in Logic Pro on a MacBook Pro 13 inch, on August 4, 2012 in Zutphen, the Netherlands. 12 stereo tracks XILS-lab Oxium 1 drumtrack Arturia Spark various tracks using the XILS-lab LeMasque delay A little reverb and compression from Logic." Many thanks to Boele for this track
The Duck 100% Oxium with just a limiter on the Master Bus Runs without freezing anything on Kelvin's CoreDuo Laptop. T Bees A simple one finger patch. A lot of things are done with le Masque, including the slides, using the level parameters. The Pbend + and - : Are assigned to the filter drive and cutoff/ Mod Wheel adresses different parameters of the filter envelope ( two ), and in the end AFT controls both the cutoff and the rez. Note that with all these modulations, the 6 modulation assignable slots are still ...... free. Or should be because actually I used them to control other aspects of sound Funky Clav Nothing special with these funky keys. You'll notice the stereo scene. Here's a long Oxium demo made by Aiyn Zahev : 100% Oxium ( except a Voice sample and the drums ). Embrace by Ayin Zahev We received this morning a link to a very nice and quiet unexpected downtempo demo, Beyond the wall, made by our friend SynthDemo you can listen to on soundcloud : http://soundcloud.com:80/synthdemo/beyond-the-wall-xils-labs making of : Here's what SynthDemo mentions on the Soundcloud page : " Single synth demo using the beta of Oxiom from Xils-Labs. 24 tracks of Oxiom, drums and vocals generated separately. I'm very impressed with the synth, the GUI is a pleasure to use and feels fun to operate, the filters sound great - you can hear a few in the track particularly the formant. The sync sound is particularly organic and the chorus compares well to my Juno 60. Modulation routings are very easy to use and I liked the default routings for 2 of the LFOs to destinations you'd generally route them anyway. All in all a well thought out synth for a pretty amazing intro price if you pre-order. " Vaporous Choir Here you can hear the Formant Filter combined with the BBD vintage Chorus. Also the new delay with the damp parameter. The Kraacken Bass Here you can hear the oscillators sync with heavy automodulations. FX Earth Y3k In this one you can hear the oscillators with extreme modulations. More than Kewl Le Masque controlling the second filter ( top end ) KY Soft Gates Le Masque making a lazy "gate" groove. All Oxium including .......... the drums. No comps , no Eq, no daw automation, all stereo scenes and movements are native Oxium etc. One general generic reverb. Sonalsis Limiter on the master bus. Woman Dreams CineStrings Some strings with a nice Chorus ArpTekkBass An Arp With Glide wich fades to grey HeavyRubber Chewing bass featuring the double filter structure. Classic Porta Lead A Classic Porta Lead. There's no reverb : Its our new delay. A Go Go Simple Brazilian A Go Go bells. Sequence is given by Le Masque. Usual modulators on envelopes. CineMachine If your 2 oscillator synth can't do this kind of patches, then it might be time to consider Oxium Cream For Ears Oxium can be very tender and delicate too. Angel 5th A grainy 5th Lead. Y2K Lead Is it already classic, or just dated ? You could hear this kind of sounds in the 90s and Y2K dance floors. Planet Claire Was discovered in the late 70s by the B52s. It also pictures the formant filter. Violins Oxium is cool for semireal, hybrid, instruments too. This one uses the combination of the formant and main filters. Epic Quest Pad I used this pad, in a modified version, in the Women Dreams demo 90s Forest Parties An electronic sequence using Le Masque to control various aspects of the sound. Funky Lines Meaty sound for funky lines Contour Keys Contour keys featuring the double filter. This one is the first wet clip, I added a light reverb on it, its just to be sure that Oxium "captures" well the reverbs. Seems to do it Masked Peaches In this patch I just hold a bass note then played the hi notes, while from times to times moving the Mod Wheel on the attack of ni notes to give the effect. All other modulations are handled by Le Masque. CS Pad -Wet- The most cheesy - like in Feta- cover of a well know theme. This one is wet with a reverb added. Melodic Keys As the tiltle says. I like it. It's simple, yet different enough to make it interesting. And digging the orange interface. I'm looking forward to demo this one.
And no dongle! Wondering what the price and release date will be! EDIT: On the XILS website no mention yet, unless you use this URL directly: http://www.xils-lab.com/pages/oxium.html |

Wooo thank God for that.....although I'm a big fan of orange in general I think this one would a bit too harsh on the eyes for extended periods. Sorry to trouble you but do you have a screenshot of the grey one? Oh and the Effects page as well.........so far I'm seeing Latch for the Arp. Ok I see the grey version on the website thanks to BDeep's link.......
Hmmm think I'll have to stick to the Orange skin and wear sunglasses. Was hoping for exactly the same skin as the orange but just toned down to grey.... The grey one's a bit too grungy and post apocalyptic for my taste. I do love orange but even looking at the screenshot above hurts my eyes a bit. I can imagine after a three hour patch tweaking session they might be bleeding..... Only judging because of the snippets and the demo songs, it's a bit thin without character, remembers more to a average digital VA.
Btw. the demo songs are not very good (but this of course only IMO) and eventually they will change this to the release. The interface looks very clean and easy to understand. This is nice. This time, not much interest. But it's nothing released yet nor a demo, so let's see again if they have something ready |

Hmmmm I'm hearing character which is why I've shown so much interest. It's the only thing that can convince me to buy a plugin now since I own just about everything from Albino to Zebra2 and have all the bases covered several times over......... But like you said let's wait until we get the demo...it may turn out that you're very impressed and I decide it's not for me...... ---- None are so hopelessly enslaved as those who falsely believe they are free.
