I'm quite happy with my 2012 mbp and the current install of Lion, and I'm not particularly excited by all the sharing/messaging/face-booky nonsense that seems to be the bulk of the fanfare around the new release.
That aside, like everyone else I'm curious and sometimes close to hitting that shiny red, candy-like 'install' button. Has anyone upgraded and hated/loved it? Any ramifications for Logic / audio stuff in general. Very happy with my current experience and thinking I should just pass for now. ---- Music is something you DO. If you are running Lion, just go for it. Most apps as well as the overall system run a lot smoother. RAM management has been noticeably optimized too. |

Regarding Logic and audio stuff, zero issues at the moment except the GateKeeper thing which can be bypassed easily. |

Very easy. Buy, download, run the installer and after 20-30 minutes you're ready to go |

dusted william, I'd recommend to install on a external USB disk first to check if everything works fine (as I have been doing until switching ML to the main disk). |

I'l have to figure out how to do that. I think I'll wait for a bit, no hurry as of yet. Thanks, dw |

Oh wow - so if I got hold of a copy of Snow Leopard (I need it for some older apps) could I run that from an external HD too? ---- My free patches here http://fingermarks.co.uk/music2.htm My Soundcloud page: http://soundcloud.com/amused ![]() |

I just installed 10.8 on my old Macbook Pro (2009) the new one (non retina) is coming next wekk and I wanted to test beforehand.
Some 32-Bit Plugs in Logic don't validate properly and after forcing validation in the AU tool they stay incompatibel but can be used: Oxford Dynamics Oxford EQ iZotope Trash iZotope Spectron some of the Michael Norris Plugs (donationware). Metasynth works fine (pheeeww) |
