Release Velocity is one thing, Aftertouch another.
We support Aftertouch but we haven't supported Release Velocity yet. What exactly do you have in mind? |

I'm picking up a synth with release velocity, so I did some searching. On this blog a guy made this video. Looks pretty cool. Do you think its viable to support? |

I'd very much like to bump this thread and hopefully it comes to Urs' attention as I'm interested to learn wether there are plans for U-he to support release velocity in the future.
As /obscure/ as this particular MIDI parameter might be, I've always wondered why, since it can be just as useful as any other mod source, VEL, AT and the rest... Obviously the 1st most straightforward use to it that comes to mind is to control the amp envelope release with it: the slower you release the key, the longer your note will last, which I would make good use of for pads for instance. Really I'd love to see more softsynths finally paying this feature the attention it deserves: it's in the MIDI format since the beginning, why oh why not make it available to users like the rest? Now who's with me? (^_-) -- DeisT (PS. Incidentally, who would dare take on the challenge to list softsynths (if any?) that DO implement release vel?) |
