Since I'm not a Tone2 customer, I thought I'd ask here first.
Don't know if this is a "feature", but the plugin from time to time (without user intervention) automatically opens a browser window to the tone2 website. Every time this happens and I go back to the plugin, there's no sound. Also, when you try to change a preset the daw stops responding for ~15 seconds. The only way to fix this is to close the instance and open a new one. This is super annoying, and since you can't save presets I have to start my comparison tests always from the beginning, reprogramming a preset. Minor niggles: 1) Every time I close the ElectraX window, it forgets what synth screen I was on. 2) If you browse some presets, then click on the "User" or "Custom" preset category, the top left preset window area gets buggy, displaying multiple overlays of preset texts. The demo version is showing 1.3 (x64). I'm hoping buyers of the full version are not having issues like these? Any Reaper users who have the synth working without problems? Thx |

This are demo limitations. After some time (10min?) sound will stop and the browser with the Tone2 website will be opened.
With newer versions of Tone2 synth (Saurus) this was changed but I remember to have the same behaviour if I tried the demo version of Electrax. |

No problems so far here in FL Studio 10 and Win7 64 bits.
At least with the full version i got no problem. It could be a problem with the demo itself,or some libraries of Win7, or a problem with your daw. Have you tried to use another VST host to make tests? For example Reaper, Minihost, some other daw demos, etc. Good luck! |

I've been using it for quite a while with Reaper W7 64bit and absolutely no problems. |

only just bought it lately but so far no bugs as described by the OP.
OSX 10.6, 32 bit. Used in various DAWs but not Reaper. the demo is time limited, stops outputting sound after 15 mins ? or 30 mins ? and launches the website in your default browser. annoying, it's true, but not unique to tone2. a couple other things i've demo'd do this. if i recall correctly celemony/melodyne demo does this ? even the full melodyne alerts you about updates unless you turn the setting off {its on by default if im not mistaken} but ya at any rate i agree it's an obnoxious thing for a plugin to do even if it's a demo. but everything else you are experiencing sounds isolated to your setup ? hey at least you spotted the bugs whilst demoing. |

Thanks for the replies, guys. I think I'll hold off purchasing for now and see. Somehow the fact that after the browser thing happens with the demo changing presets causes Reaper to freeze for a while is scaring me. Great sounding filters on this thing tho, would enjoy more lenient demo limitations as well. |

There were some issues with the 64 bit version and the FL Wrapper that Bastiaan had fixed.
Reaper has always been buggy with me and VST's. Make sure you have the latest version of Reaper installed and you d/l the demo frm the Tone2 website. If you still have problems, let Tone2 know. They are working hard trying to get these 64 bit madness done. Also, it's something with the GUI. If your mouse pointer stays/strays to the logo, it will try to go to the website. |

You're not hallucinating. Has happened to me also. I'm no coder, but perhaps a 'confirm click' line could be added to the code to prevent this. |

Ah there they are, right on time, bless.. Full-on jugular personal attacks as always, that's the standard MO. Next is to get the thread locked like most recent Tone2 ones. It would all be funny if it wasn't so sad that people spend their days and nights being self-appointed attack dogs for a plugin software company that probably don't give a toss about them or would even prefer they went away, but then it wouldn't be the first time we've seen brand loyalty gone mad.. Ironically seems only a tone2 troll could be bothered in this thread. Well done, you win the prize.
