...Urs or anyone, I have Zebra 2 ...of course As you now know...But would like to know if (if any) if there were any differences between Diva Filters and Zebra Filters, Zebra has allot of choice (HP 12db/24db/BP/BR/Formant/EQ etc, But is there any difference, like ALLOT of difference, Because all i've hurd is Diva Filters this and Diva Filers that...so really? what is the hype about? ---- DJBenniboy - (Soundcloud) http://www.soundcloud.com/benniboyproductions (Youtube) - http://www.youtube.com/DJBenniboyOfficial (Twitter) @djbenniboy check my patches out @ www.u-he.com/PatchLib/zebra.html |

Yes, the difference is in the algorithms. Diva filters do not use unit delay in the feedback path of the filter.
http://www.mathworks.com/help/toolbox/simulink/slref/unitdel ay.html Instead Diva uses predictive algorithms which are predicting each output sample multiple times before the sample is actually output, which is extremely CPU intensive. |

Cheers Evil Dragon, Yeah I have noticed, its like the reverb on Zebra is like sort of a feedback delay too I guess?, Its still a good reverb, but Im guessing its some sort of spring/feedback one on Zebra and P/m on Diva, All plugins try the best they can to say they have "the best" filters, but its only determined by the quality of our soundcards....I think Zebra is all about Oscillators and a/m and divas about Filters and V/A ---- DJBenniboy - (Soundcloud) http://www.soundcloud.com/benniboyproductions (Youtube) - http://www.youtube.com/DJBenniboyOfficial (Twitter) @djbenniboy check my patches out @ www.u-he.com/PatchLib/zebra.html |

Diva's filters are amazing not only because of delayless feedback, but because of carefully modelled analogue behaviour — all these dc offsets and asymmetric shapers resulting in warm and big sound with natural bass boost (not just bass EQing). I personally use non-zero resonance very seldom, but I noticed magic sound of Diva even without filter resonance. I think it is time to buy... not Diva, but ZebraHZ. |

Reverbs are usually feedback networks of allpass filters. I think this is pretty much valid for both Zebra and Diva. |

Diva filters are modelled to be as close to functionally identical as possible to real life classic synth filters. Zebra's, in general, don't seem to be. But then there's the Dark Zebra, which is Zebra with Diva's filters, so yeah. |

....awesome that is i beleive!, but i did read somewhere that diva has quad core support for cpu's but zebra hz has the filters but not the full quad cpu support? quote me if im wrong, And this is what it says about Diva on u-hes website The oscillators, filters and envelopes closely model components found in some of the great monophonic and polyphonic synthesizers of yesteryear. Modules can be mixed and matched so you can build hybrids, but what sets DIVA apart is the sheer authenticity of the analogue sound. This comes at the cost of quite a high CPU-hit, but we think it was worth it: Diva is the first native software synth that applies methods from industrial circuit simulators (e.g. PSpice) in realtime. The behaviour of zero-delay-feedback filters when pushed to the limit clearly demonstrates the advantages of this groundbreaking approach. ...they say with every softsynth/ pristine pristine PRISTINE, lol they always seem to be the best for oscs, lol going a little off topic here but I can see a Daz trend here, where on the ads you used to get a demonstation of the "leading" brand vs Daz washing powder Whiter than white....If is was the same for oscs, wouldnt we have "washed" out thin sounds, because they seem to be gettting better and better and BETTER....until well the best is "no oscilators! ---- DJBenniboy - (Soundcloud) http://www.soundcloud.com/benniboyproductions (Youtube) - http://www.youtube.com/DJBenniboyOfficial (Twitter) @djbenniboy check my patches out @ www.u-he.com/PatchLib/zebra.html |
