Yes a 4 page reviews big for a softsynth in SOS.
Very positive as you would expect "Diva is startlingly good"

SOS don't pull punches. They tend to be pretty tough / conservative in their reviews imo. So this is a real good review, not surprising.

I have exactly the same thought every time I read Diva.Urs wrote:woah, gotta buy this!!!
Yesterday I figured, what the heck, I'll just trade my alpha Juno 1 for Diva. Then decided to plug it in for fun. Quite amazing how good it sounds actually, almost forgot that. What I also forgot is how good these presets are. I mean, they're your run of the mill flutes, violins, hobos etc. but they're quite convincing considering that there's only one osc, one env and one filter.
Before anyone asks, nope, didn't compare it to Diva.
Might get soundonsound this month though.

When you incorporate the multistage env you will
Anyone any idea what alpha Juno 1s go for in Europe these days? 250-300?
I'm going way OT. Congratulations with such a review in a mag that is conservative in its covering of independent software.

Wow! Very cool. I wondered if SOS would review Diva.

Spot on. SOS can be relied upon for impartial synth reviews. It's been like this since I remember (since about 1989 in fact, still have some issues from that time hehe).Gonga wrote:SOS don't pull punches. I haven't read it yet as I'm away on (working) holiday so I can't buy this issue yet...
I see Paul Nagle did this review. Paul is a very experienced musician with lots of live concerts under his belt, and he knows his stuff. Check him out on YT doing some very cool live electronic music.

They used to split reviews across 2 issues.
I remember the Yamaha SY77 review which was that long and specific..those were the days...no internet, but SOS with reviews that would be read over and over and over (at least by me

Its a great review. The user-experience he describes completely reflects the way it is for anyone who delves deeply into Diva - the satisfying filters, the joy of the modularity, the CPU use, and so on.
I am pretty sure this review will help push sales of Diva even further than before.
Big congrats to the u-he team.
