Does anyone have any FM8 tips for getting the gritty bass sound in the trailer or the dub bass sound in the 4th track?

Use Massive, Harmor, Harmless, SkannerXT, Razor or any number of like synths to get that sound.Uncle E wrote:http://blog.uvi.net/sounds-instruments/the-beast/

What's the lightest CPU additive synth?Karmacomposer wrote:Use Massive, Harmor, Harmless, SkannerXT, Razor or any number of like synths to get that sound.

Dunno. Harmless seems harmless enough (lol).
The others are pretty hefty! I'm going to guess that Razor and/or SkannerXT are less CPU intensive, but don't base any decision on my guesses.

What is this instrument about?
The trailer posted on youtube is just some wolf running around with a couple of still pictures of the interface
And is it an emulation?:

Well, then why can't they write that outright?jsp1979 wrote:I think THE machine is the Synclavier
It feels like a bootleg instrument when they beat around the bush with their "nudge, nudge, knowarrImean" THE machine

I don't get how can this be an emulation of the Synclavier. AFAIK, the Synclavier was able to do FM, additive, sampling and resynthesis. Don't know about filters and/or envelopes. Does anyone know how can the simple UVI Workstation emulate all these synthesis techniques?

Synclavier I was not so versatile as later version of that machine.fmr wrote:I don't get how can this be an emulation of the Synclavier. UVI is a weird company. Some of their sample banks are incredible (plugsound pro is awesome) and some are total shit (Synths Anthology has pretty much every single preset totally silent at below 64 velocity which makes them totally useless to use with touch-sensitivity).

And lets not forget that neither will work without the iLokrifftrax wrote:UVI is a weird company. FM is possible for sure, since UVI Workstation has it (well it's the engine behind MachFive 3 after all). Additive can also be done in theory, by using analog stack oscillators.fmr wrote:I don't get how can this be an emulation of the Synclavier. Your issue is quite weird.....
Do you confirm you had copied both UFS files into the same UVISoundBanks location (i.e., SynthAnthology.ufs and SynthAnthology.ufs1) ?
Feel free to contact us for any further help --> support@uvi.net

Rifftrax,
One last thing, the Synths Anthology sound bank has been updated 2 years ago.
Therefore, you might need to be up to date......
Don't hesitate to contact us if needed (support@uvi.net), we can give you a FTP link to update your library.
