why does this merit a new thread when your original one is only a few posts below? ---- To laymen, software development is something akin to wizardry. Neither time, nor effort are involved. If software is missing features they want, or has bugs, it is solely because someone has been too lazy to wave their magic wand. |

Hi whyterabbyt
The original note was in the Production Techniques section of the forum, and as someone there suggested it is perhaps just as relevant to the Effects section I thought I'd oblige. No clutter or spamming intended, just wanted to let everyone who might find it useful know, in the appropriate forum sections Cheers! GeorgeGTPS |

Hi George.. besides the sonnox i actually almost completely agree with your list 100%
Interesting you noted the softube PA was good for low end.. i agree.. and it's harsh on the highs. But nice low and decent mids. Check out the mcdsp retro EQ and i hope that makes the upcoming further 20, that one has a super sweet mid range. i dislike so many eq's mids and this one nailed it.. so i have it around just for that ---- Please call me Theo. |

I was a bit puzzled that nobody posted anything about Equilibre, but then /i tried to search for it and the website is down, the KVR info about it disappeared... strange and sad... was a great EQ.
Also, BootEQ should be mentioned in the article, quite a cool and useful tool.
And if we keep talking about freebies, here's one with a very musical sound (at least to my ears), Pushtec 5+1A. ![]() |

You mean they aren't using 1's and 0's like everybody else? You can have two songs on your hard drive that are completely different, yet they are using 1's and 0's... I'll pass on the completely unnecessary additional hardware which offers a seriously underpowered cpu in comparison to today's native processors. ---- Analog synth or plugin? George GetThatProSound.com It's all subective i guess but if we are talking hardware then thats a different realm. I find in software there's a fine line in eq and filtrations. However, hardware you start introducing circuitry and components into the mix. However, when I here eq posts the following jump to the forefront of my mind: http://rhythminmind.net/1313/?p=361 http://rane.com/note115.html http://emilianocaballero.wordpress.com/2012/04/22/digital-eq -fact-myth/ http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/jan05/articles/qa0105-4.htm ---- Rintrah roars & shakes his fires in the burdend air 'Need talent & opportunity' |
