Here's what I am trying to do:
I am trying to assign the knobs on my M-Audio Axiom to work control sliders on the mixer.
It's pretty easy to get one going. I have right clicked on a fader, assigned a midi control, assigned the same control on the Axiom and boom, away we go.
Up and down goes the fader.
That's nice.
Trouble is it seems like you can only do one at a time. Because if I map other racks the same the only one that will move is the rack you click on first to activate.
Is this a limitation in MuLab? Is there no way to have them all 'awake' at the same time, so to speak. Because if I have to click on each one with the mouse in order to tweak it I might as well just adjust the fader with the mouse, no point mapping it to hardware.

If I knew which of those 128 source control options correspond to which hardware controls, it would be cool to use that map, but I don't. Would be great if it worked like with Midi learn, just moving the hardware control would select the corresponding source from the list 
Is there a mapping for session-independent Mulab controls, too, that is loaded every time Mulab starts?

thats what I did, I just turned a knob (ooh er ) and it recognised it, it came up as another name but the correct control operated the correct mixer.

Obviously not 
Just checked again, the only thing that is recognized by movement are pitch and modulation wheels. All the other knobs and sliders seem to be inactive...

Still not working for me unfortunately.
Here's what I am doing: I have mapped my eight Axiom encoder knobs to Midi cc's 20-27 respectively.
Then I have assigned the gains (ie. the sliders) on various racks in MuLab to those controllers.
They all work fine. But only one at a time.
Mean I have to click on the individual rack which brings it 'alive' so to speak.
A little white line forms around that rack and the colour is filled in on the whole rack not just the top. THEN the assigned encoder knob will move the slider.
But only than. You have to click each one to bring it alive before you can make the hardware move it.
That to me completely defeats the purpose because if you have to click on the rack to get it to wake up you might as well more the slider with the mouse.
If your experience is different can you tell me how? Does the slider move without a white line or full colour on the rack or does it somehow wake up when you move the encoder knob? Thanks.

Session-> Edit Session MIDI Input Controller Map.
I then double click inside the window that pops up, then double click the line that begins "none"
when the next window appears asking about which parameter to choose, I just twiddle a knob on my controller
and mulab recognises the cc number, its a matter of then selecting whichever rack you want and choosing gain as the parameter to control.
