Looking for a mic for recording female vocals

Hi buddies.

I'm looking for a microphone, for recording female vocals (my girlfriend).
As i got a Presonus AudioBox soundcard not much ago (a gift from a good friend) i would like to use the XLR input for the Mic with the Phantom power.


However, i'm opened to any other suggestion as it sounds good, or if can be used in field recording also.
Anyway i know nothing about mics to be honest.

Of course, if can be in the ± 70 Euros price range, the better.

Hi mate!

In the desired price range (50-70 Euros) there are several large-diaphragm microphones (the big ones). The brands of the low cost mics i know are "T-Bone" (Thomann) and "Fame" (Musicstore) and they look like they all come from the same chinese company. They all have in common:
- they are much better than the price assumes
- the high frequencies are empasized a bit so they sound rather "sharp"

This one comes with a popkiller and a shockmount already (both essential for voice recordings!).
I found this mic rather good. We had a pair of these (and some others) some years ago when we recorded our band demos. Used them for guitars, drums, harp and voice (you know those demos). Later i bought a matched pair of Rode NT2A which we then used for the final recordings (voice, harp, bagpipes).

Together with a micstand, a cable + shipping you have reached 100 Euro+ already! But you have a 30 day money back guarantee there.

So this purchase doesn't come with XLR cable?

I will try to see if this one is near my home or let's see, i can't afford 100 Euros (it will be a lending, and i don't want to abuse)

I have found many mics. In the range price, near my home. But noone is selling those suggested ones.

I have a couple of doubts.

There are mics with small membrane, and big membranes.
What's the difference?

I'm affraid that i only can afford those.

But i really liked the one Pocvecem suggested, but as he said, the shipping cost will be a killer.

Without XLR cable or mount, etc.

How many costs a XLR cable?
What type should be? Female/male?

I think you could go for something really cheap, like those mentioned, or whatever thomann offers you.
Mic stand and cable, well you could allways make your cable, it will be cheaper (it is one of the easiest thing to make). And yes, male/female XLR.

Other thing, make yourself a DIY popkiller with some "alambre" and a pair of "medias", I used that for years and it is really ok.

After listening to a lot of stuff recorded with mic that cost less than 80€, I feel like allmost whatever you'll buy will be satisfaying for a good while. It is definitely not as bad as it use to be, for the price.
