Three years later!
Are there any reverbs to add to the list especially if they are 64 bit?

So, I'm not going to recommend "every" free reverb. CloudSeed, however, is a very good reverb in the style of Blackhole or Shimmer (without the shimmer effect).

Not quite sure what you're point is? It wasn't stable in 2014, and that's Dec of 2014, not by a long shot. In fact, I would say that only in the last year has it been stable, and, it's not anywhere else in this thread.Kalamata Kid wrote:CloudSeed VST Plugin (Alpha version)ghettosynth wrote:So, I'm not going to recommend "every" free reverb. But yes, that's my recommendation for ambient specific reverbs. For the most part I use CloudSeed, Blackhole, and Spacemaster and other Reaktor verbs as "ambient specific." Of course I use dozens of other reverbs as well.

I know barely nothing about Cloudseed so I mentioned 2014 so that there may have been some changes from then on. I put the 2014 just as a reference. Not trying to be negative or even positive.ghettosynth wrote:Not quite sure what you're point is? It wasn't stable in 2014, and that's Dec of 2014, not by a long shot. I am impressed that you put CloudSeed, Blackhole, and Spacemaster and other Reaktor verbs as "ambient specific." in the same sentence. I lust put CloudSeed on my to try list!
"dozens of other reverbs" At the rate my GAS is going I may get to dozens one day. Though I will pass up Ultraverb and wait to see what Blackhole sale will look like.

I tried Cloudseed again recently and still couldn't get it to work despite supposedly having all the dependencies it requires.
For my ambient stuff, I'm finding I'm using the two freebies I mentioned (along with abstract chamber) probably more than VVV recently so worth pointing out imho.

Interesting. It works great for me, I've used it in two tracks this week alone. What OS are you using? I have no stake in this, I just think that it's a fantastic tool.GaryG wrote:I tried Cloudseed again recently and still couldn't get it to work despite supposedly having all the dependencies it requires.

In REAPER this issue is easily resolved by unchecking 'Save state as VST bank (default)'.Anti-Logic wrote:Oh there's also KR-Reverb FS (but read below):
"I like it but I have had problems with storing the presents in Reaper, if I use it in a project and re-open the project it's back to the default patch." <-- I had the same issue in FL Studio back in the day constantly which made me ditch it sadly enough.
Just rightclick KR-Reverbs entry in the plugin browser and remove the check mark.
From then on, settings will restore fine.
The same works for KR-Delay too.

I can't believe I haven't used Freeverb3! Hibiki is ~awesome~. I also like ProG from the same package a lot, somewhat similar but different character, I just wish it had high pass parameters like Hibiki. I guess that can be dealt with on a send.do_androids_dream wrote: Hibiki from Freeverb3 - True stereo, can be made to sound very wide and create big sounding spaces. Has a kind of 'dark' character.
Until now I'd always used Omniverb for long modulated tails, but this is another excellent and very different option. Very thick and "gooey" sounding, as opposed to Omniverb's more sparse and subtle tail. I guess it'd be fair to say the top Freeverb algos sound more expensive or more modern.
So to the OP, my 2c are that if you're looking for something that hangs nicely in the background, use Omniverb, and if you're looking for something that seems like part of the source sound rather than an effect behind it, use one of the Freeverb3 algos mentioned above.
