I'm stoked personally, I am having an Acid flashback using 7 from Sony a lot.

Here's to a lysergic future!

Sorry, it is news though IMO.
What do you need Regnas?
Personally I need to remove the quantize markers in one click.

huge thing is 64 bit

not trying to be too flip but did you really think they were gonna buy it and trash it? Why does this surprise you?

Oh, I was sure that they would compete with themselves in Samplitude.
Everyone wants to streamline,
so I thought that making the product line more complicated would really not be the thing to do.

Ta for the heads up on 64 bit,
I make and use my own plugins that are 32 bit,
so I was not aware of that.

Well I REALLY hope they update it because I would love to use acid again. I started on version 2. I also been using Soundforge forever. Sort of a slap in the face right now though, since they bring out the same old garbage at a higher price.

i could see acid in ios format same as sf. cant see acid competing with other daws even after a serious face lift though. well, maybe changing the target group would give it achance though. anyway sf stands strong among the limited competition in my view.

It's hard to tell... I want a complete overhaul, new interface/features, 64 bit etc... Basically be the mighty Acid again...

And btw, the Soundforge price is nonsense.. :ud:

Post

Agreed, I love soundforge but in it's current state it is not worth that much money, I would have expected a price reduction not an increase.. Even Wavelab Elements is more impressive (apart from the excellent SF scripting) and supports 64-bit and live processing. I really hope that they add these features to bring it into the modern age, I do use Wavelab too but I am so embedded in the Soundforge way it is more productive for me.

There is no upgrade option too, I haven't received any email to transfer the Sony license/account across, does anyone know anything about that?

Post

That's what I want to know... re upgrading, etc.

Hopefully we'll find something out soon.
