For more than 5 years keep getting the same problem of omnisphere (and sometimes stylus Rmx) losing patches.
Because of this I started saving omnisphere settings within each project as user multis.
But even this doesn't help.
Today I open my latest project, both omnisphere instances are blank, loaded saved multis but they're still blank..
How can't recover my omnisphere instances with correct patches ??What are other options to save Omni instances besides bouncing to audio ?

I haven't had this happen to me for years....spectrasonics had instructed me to delete some files and let rmx and omnisphere recreate them, and I don't think it has happened since....Alas its been years so I don't remember what file it is.
But then again I have been using windows 10 for awhile too.

I've never heard of it ever happening, I'd have been on to support years ago to track it down - why on earth have you let it go on so long?
It's very easy to find the user patches in a browser (in a normal world). Find your STEAM library location, then Omnisphere/Settings Library/Patches/User. Just copy and backup. (here's how to find the STEAM folder if you don't know where it is - http://knowledge.timespace.com/index.ph ... re-library )

Hi Guy, just to amplify the OP to make sure we are speaking about the same thing, which indeed use to happen to me occasionally with rmx and omnisphere.
Is I have a project in Nuendo using these, and one day I open the project and instances of omnisphere/rmx used now show its default settings, almost like I replaced my configured omni/rmx with the patches I choose, volumes panning and someone replaced them with a fresh instance, with no patches assigned to any of the multis.

I looked up my email archives.. wow I was having that issue in 2008. I think the issue was mostly I was using 32bit OS/host/plugin at the time and it was in major part a memory issue.
I don't think I have had it once since I went 64 bit.

i picked factory patches and tweaked them.
but saved the omnisphere instances (like i always do) as multis in case it will get recalled blank so i can reload the saved multi and all the patches and settings will apear.
but even reopening saved multi all patches are blank..

another precaution i do is name each midi track going to omnisphere with the patch name. but, sometimes i forgetm and this helps only to recover patches not effects and all the patch tweaks etc

I genuinely have no idea what's going wrong with your system - honestly never encountered anything like this nor heard it from anyone else.
What I'd do if you're after a workaround is to routinely back up your instruments and multis folders regularly in the OS, perhaps at the end of every working day. They're both small folders, so shouldn't take long to do. There's nothing magic about them, they're just regular folders storing each patch individually.

I have been using Omnisphere (and RMX) for a looong time and this has never happened to me. Never heard of it happening to anyone else.
Patches are not saved 'inside' Omnisphere - they are saved as files on your hard drive. Omnisphere cannot "lose" your patches.
My advice is that you be more careful while saving patches.
