Is there anyone using T6 as their DAW for VO work?

Dragging and highlighting sound waves seems to be much easier to work with and more accurate for small area editing. Although I really do want to migrate to a real DAW, hence my exploration of T6. So far, I love the programme and have downloaded those plugins 'emarsk' suggested. I can't see however, how the ReaFIR plugin removes noise. It seems to be more of an EQ (a very useful one, by the way - thanks) than a noise removal plugin.
With voice work you need to have basically a 'zero' noise floor because the tiny white noise you get between words can take away the fantasy of what's been spoken, causing the listener to think... 'oh, that's right, there's a microphone between my ears and those words'. Music always has some sound being played (bar any pauses... but even white noise is not so noticeable there. Probably because your ears haven't yet 'caught up' with the gap) so not as crucial.
So there are some other options out there...

A decent product from what I hear, but I have not used it:

http://www.antarestech.com/noisereducti ... undsoap-5/

Then there is this from Accusonus:

https://accusonus.com/products/era-n

They also have a nice reverb/room removal plugin:

https://accusonus.com/products/era-r

These last two I used extensively in my last project and they work really well. So much so, that I used them in place of my iZotope plugins focused on these areas. (Just a lot simpler and quicker to dial in what I needed and very effective.)

All of them are very affordable (around $50) and offer free trials I believe.
Thanks, I'm giving the soundsoap one a crack... Did you load these plugin's directly to T6? Or do they work indepentantly because I've downloaded the trial and T6 doesn't seem to load it.

do you know in which folder it got installed?
maybe it has to be added to the folders where tracktion searches for plugins.

also check under settings-plugins, if tracktion automatically scans for new plugins or if you have to do it manually.
below the window where the plugins are listed, there is a button that says "scan for plugins" (or similar).
check the menus in there.

I need to be able to select a portion of a recording easily for editing and having to constantly set in and out markers (instead of just being able to drag and select a portion for editing) gets old very fast.

Cheers
You can set the in/out markers by holding down ctrl + alt and dragging in windows you know. Makes setting area selections very fast.

I’ll give that a try. Would be really cool if that works for me.

Make sure you’ve scanned new plugins.

FYI sometimes when I use these types of plugins, a shelving eq with a slight 1 - 2 dB boost in the mid and upper frequencies brings back a little snap to the voice if things sound a bit duller.

Good luck!

Apparently soundsoap works independently and not within a DAW so I don't really know what it's like. I'm not having any luck with that one. I'll try the other ERA-N plugin I think.

Yes. This definitely works, on windows. Hold down ctrl+alt, left click with the mouse and drag.

If you're on mac, it'll probably be different modifier keys, try experimenting with holding down cmd + alt or something
