Hi!

here is an lo-fi ambientish track by me. I started this track on the last full moon but didn't really work on it anymore since then. I guess it is more or less finished but it could be improved some more. This may or may not happen depending how I will feel with my next moon-touch and whether or not I will figure out what it is what I want do with it still.
The vocals especially are somewhat sharp still on the other hand I think they fit the track and the mood I was in.

Comments, constructive criticism, suggestions of directions of where I could go with this track & other forms of remarks are very welcome but please don't expect anything too polished. It's Lo-Fi!!!

:!: IMPORTANT: you should use the save as... function and rename the file extention to mp3 instead of 3mp. :!:

This sounds very much like Paul Schutze - Third Site....which is a good thing :D

Fantastic work, if a bit scary ;)

Thank you for listening püRe! I'm glad you liked it. I am not familair with Paul Schutze but I will look into his work.

My apologies for the shameless self-bumbing… but I would like some more feedback.

PüRe: I checked out Paul Schütze which was cool a thing to do. his material is similair indeed.

Though the words are not important here is the story that I tell in the song...maybe that will inspire some more feedback

The Stranger
written by austere

I see you hanging from the tree in the old forest dressed in the fullness of summer. Slowly you sway with the wind of to where the rope allows you to.

Your dead eyes gaze at the pond which reflects whatever is left of your once so beautiful body. Then they see me standing amidst the woods. I stare and see your eyes filled with a horror far greater than that of the moment they pushed you from that branch to fall to the extend of the chord (which holds you now). A horror equal to the pain you felt when the sudden strain snapped your neck
Even though you are now long dead - the hairs at the back of your skull rise and your black, purplish skin turns into Goosebumps sending the insects on and underneath it into a panicking frenzy.

My steps can only be heard as the replacement of sand on the dry ground. As I approach you the surroundings grow silent and the wind lies down..

No more can you move, no more can your run.
Trapped inside your mortal shell – your eyes twist and turn in freight as you see my hand touching your skull… making you face me one last time before I cut you down.

The loud thumb that your body makes when it hits the ground (reflects and dies away in the trees), the fluids that start to run and flow between my toes, the sudden burst of insects squirming from underneath your (tattered) cloths to escape the setting sunlight.

Your mind runs wild in fear and fright.
Your mind runs wild with a pain you no longer feel.

I touch you again – you feel nothing. I drag you along through the forest over many, now in twilight drenched paths (& roads). We trod until far in the night I stop and put you down. Your fear has subsided in the time that passed (and your mind fills with questions / wonder). How long, how long, how long have I been dead? Who is this that drags me, that cut me down from my dying height? Why can I not feel and yet I am aware of what happens?

The possibilities run through your mind and so amounts the fear. Suddenly my (empty) voice speaks and says to you. You imagined your life, you’ve always been dead. You have never been.
Then you realise the stranger is right and all there is is the pond reflecting (of) what once could have been your body.

I didn't find any elements in this that could qualify as fear inducing, TBH..I mean, it's a good foundation, but there is a lack of content somehow that needs to be filled; something is missing..it lacks an agitant.

I'd say dig out Absynth & feed it through some Spektral Relativity IR's & get some REAL fear going :D

Finally able to listen to this. Some great background things happening here allready, though I feel the voice-over at times just to be too present and too sharp.

More please :)

I understand what you mean with the ‘lack of content’ but don’t quite agree with it. My mood dictated that had to become a minimal & empty piece.
But it might (indeed) be a bit too minimal & amateuristic (sp?).

As for the (lack of) fear inducing aspects of it. Well, I don’t really know… before I posted it here I send the file to a bunch of people who all commented that they found an ominous piece to listen to. I was experiencing anxiety when I made the track so there is true fear associated with it for me personally. So that’s why it ended up in the description. Blah, blah...

As for Absynth & Spektral Relativity that indeed seems like a fear inducing combination. But thank you for listening & commenting!

The voice is definitely too sharp & too present! The problem is that I recorded it with sub-inferior equipment. There was SO incredibly much noise on it and when I did a noise reduction in Audition all the “s” disappeared so in the end the only way I got a remotely satisfying feeling about the voice when it ended up with the it is now.

Don’t know if it will ever happen but when I am in a similar mood again I hope to work on the track again and fix the voice problem and do some other neat little things with it as well. Until then this will have to function as epitaph for the only month that we have this year with two full moons.

well, it’s my pleasure to cater to that need. I’ll post another track in a moment. I think this will be to like your liking. And Sickle666 I think that underground river will be more up your alley.

thank you all for listening.

If you're making a reference to the 'Underground Stream', then yes, on GP's I'm intrested in any sonic interpretation regarding 'Et In Arcadia Ego', & the miasma that comes along with it.

Of course, if it's just another track, well..I'm intrested in that, too

A bit late perhaps - but I can't download your track :(
