Very experimental and IDMish (keep in mind that I'm not really able to comment on this)...

I would keep this on my comp as a nice IDM set (which it probably is, roit?)...

Some pretty quirky sounds in there, too...

Like a lot of music I listen to these days, I have it on at work, repeating, and hear bits and pieces over the course of the day.

So, with that in mind (and hopes that someday I'll hear it beginning-to-end), I'm finding it very entertaining. A natural "trap" in doing a long piece is to make repetitive noise after repetitive noise as to almost hypnotise the listener (imho), but I don't feel that with your piece. It seems to grow where needed and all fits together nicely.

Maybe I'll have something more intelligent to say when I hear the whole thing.

This is what I like about live minimalism, lots of movement and interesting sounds that change over time and this is alot of time. Is this a record for you Mark, 42 minutes. Time to celebrate. Sorry to say I made it half way through and got distracted. This may be a great piece while doing artwork, I can focus on my art and have something interesting to listen to and also not have to worry about change the cd.

- Barry: I doubt you'll really feel to be jammed, although segments do take their time to develop. Definately a record on this end. There was plenty of diversion in the separate elements to keep going. Usually before recording I go over the elements and tweak to fit, but once recording it just kept going and kept being interesting to play with

- Windchillfactor: It seems to grow where needed and all fits together nicely. It does doesn't it. Most preparation for this tune went into recording a ten minute just tweaking a Juno-tone onto a cassette to be played through the 4-track; and into creating an interesting enough drum-sequence on the limelite (which I feel was rather succesfull; only now to find out how I can save, as the sequence is lost). - Bruce: This is most certainly a record, of which I surprised myself most. I should send you the CD of this one

All in all, it was my goal to create a live recorded CD this year and this came awfully close. It has given me the incentive to make more preparations to have more elements available to build with over time. and get it on video and record it on dat.

PS: no host was involved in this recording

I use that term quite loosely

Oh, and I have a "thang" for long tracks (genre doesn't matter)...that's probably why my most listened to track is Thursday Afternoon (shame on you if you don't know the duration)
