Question for our future: What's the best (supported) software for creating Plugins in OSX?

It seems that my hundreds of SonicBirth plugins will be a thing of the past soon, with Apple Silicon, etc looming..
Is there a platform that gives the capabilities of SonicBirth but is supported?
I looked at Max which has a "Gen" Module to output code but it's subscription based and expensive to buy outright..
What options are out there?

It's not totally excluded that, at some point, Antoine updates SonicBirth to make a universal (Intel & ARM) version. I have the source code for version 1.3.5 and a few months ago had a crack at it in Xcode. I had to abandon because compile errors kept coming and I didn't have a clue how to solve them. Anyway, I'm not totally bummed out by SonicBirth's future...

Great to hear...!
I really like SB, and have recently been working with a hardware specific development tool that is driving me crazy.. arbitrary limits on parameter values, antiquated rules for control signal vs audio processing (no mixed signal modules). Ugh.
