Yes, no, which one do you use?

AxeFX 3 mk2. I had a Kemper Amp Profiler for a decade, or so, but I felt like I needed to change things up. I’m happier with the AxeFX, because I can do dual stereo amp setups and crazy effects routing, or just load up a Vox AC30 and it just sounds great. I keep a Blackstar HT-5 Dual Tube drive in its effect loop, for extra crunch.

I don't use them myself as I like to collect interesting effect pedals. If I were to want one, without spending a ton of money, I would look at the eventide H-9 Max or Maybe the Boss GT-1000 I guess, definitely I would lean towards the Eventide side. There is an all analog multi-fx pedal that I am interested in heh:
I like analog stuff pretty much, digital is not something I am overly interested in these days.
Jam Pedals Pink Flow:
Or maybe a custom multi-pedal from them, like such: These can cost near as much as the AxeFX
I expect, and not do anywhere near as much stuff, but they are definitely cool imo.

I mostly prefer single pedals these days but MFX were always way easier when playing covers in pub bands etc.
I still own a few MFX:
Boss GT5 - my mentor had one when we were younger, have always owned one since and it works really well in 4cable with a real amp replacing the preamp section.
Roland VG8ex - Something I always wanted but couldn't get when I was young so I have it just for some interesting textures.
Mooer Preamp Live - I loved a couple of the mooersingle preamp pedals when I tried them so I bought the MPL, think of it as 1/2 of a multieffect with boosts/distortions and preamps/cabs/IR etc - I really like it and used it a lot for a couple of years.
Line 6 Pod Go - Sounds great, super easy to use and program, I mainly used it prior to covid for band practices so I didn't have to take my pedal board and could use any amp without stressing.
I also have a Korg pandora, love it for it's metronome and simple backings for playing in the sunshine or on holiday.
I keep them all in boxes, in my wardrobe - they take up a lot of room and ultimately plugins are perfect for the very sporadic recordings I do right now.
I do have a MKII Katana I use for just playing when I feel like it but I don't much like how it sounds compared to the original.
Love multi effects, always have - but love single pedals more tbh.

I have a Digitech around here somewhere that never gets used anymore but my ancient M-Audio Back Box is SO MUCH fun to plug in. In fact, I'm done typing rn and digging that one out of the drawer to fire up.

I have been using mostly amp sims going to my computer lately.
Right before COVID I picked up a Katana. I figured if I didn't like it as an amp it would still make a decent power amp for my old GT-8, which I thought sounded decent through a clean amp if a little weak direct.
I expected that I would probably use my Katana as a pedal platform and use some of my old pedals with that. Between issues with my existing pedals, and how good the onboard effects were on that amp, and that the cost to build the pedalboard I wanted would rival that of the GT-1000, I decided that that was not where I wanted to go right now.

I'm such a sucker for little gadgets, have owned most of the pandoras, the zoom 9001 and 9002. I even bought the boss gt001 but tbh I do not like modern Boss stuff, the katana was an exception but I don't really like V2.Mister Natural wrote: ↑Mon Jun 27, 2022 3:00 pmHA - I used to have a Korg Pandora, such a cool box for headphones . . .Chickenman wrote: ↑Sun Jun 26, 2022 9:07 am ...I also have a Korg pandora, love it for it's metronome and simple backings for playing in the sunshine or on holiday.

That just goes to show you how far MFX have come.
Even if the piano player can't play, keep the party going.

Had a few MFX's others have posted. Moved on. Spent too much time tweaking, not enough playing. The last time I was in a band my Digitech RP10 was still newish and I gigged with it five days a week.
I'd rather have an all in one amp like the Fender Mustang GTX

It's the sound of Mysterious Ways. Does some genuinely weird, cool things but you're right, it's in a completely different category from Kemper, AxeFX, and GT1000.

The Zoom G5 has that funky multi-directional expression pedal. I've always wanted to try that.
Boss MS-3 is great because it integrates perfectly with analog pedals. Get the best of both worlds.

Pandora's are noisy as all getup especially when changing presets. The presets were cool but lacked lower mid and bass response
I have a zoom G1Xon which also is noisy as all get up. The effects amp sims, cab sims are piss poor. The screen is incredibly small and hard to ui controls don't help. The fact that it does have usb is nice but you can't download patches directly into it or manipulate chains via an app is pathetic. The only thing the usb does is update firmware. I only bought it because it's battery powered and I wanted something I could busk with.

That's the one that has all the non-preamp effects plus three loops for pedals, right? That definitely sounds like a great option which I would expect would be more popular.
