This is driving me nutz
How can you import a midi file into Cubase without it altering the tempo of the project. Its such a pain to have to go back in to the tempo map and reset every thing.
I suppose I could create a new project import it then change the tempo then drag it back in to the real project but thats soooo long winded
Im hoping theres a secret setting somewhere in Cubase that Ive missed.

You used the word "Project", so I presume it is Cubase SX , not VST 5.1 (where you'd create a new Arrangement then drag into you existing one)? In SX , what you are already doing is the way to go, but the good (expensive?) news is that in SX 3 there's a new MIDIfile import option to ignore the MIDIfile's tempo track data.
Btw, if you imported your MIDifile into a newley-created project, you wouldn't have to change it's tempo before dragging the Parts back into your original project.

I did get a life,once...but it was faulty, so I sent it back.

Thanks Vic
So SX3 has the secret switch, Im on SL2 now so I hope SL3 has the same feature when it comes out.
Ive been manualy changing the tempo in the temorary projetc before dragging it in to the working project, didnt occur to me that I wouldnt have to do that. I will give it a go
