Using Shreddage 3 with an external amp sim

Hi. Apologies if this is a super nooby question, but I'm trying to use Shreddage with an external amp sim (that's not built in to Shreddage).
Do I just add the amp sim to the tracks plugin chain (after Shreddage) or do I need to send the shreddage signal to the amp sim (on a separate track)? Many thanks

I add Amplitube to the trac directly after shreddage. They are both on the same track. Love, Rich
