Pro Tools HD 12 can't do the simplest thing?

Bought as a download off eBay, perpetual license. It comes with this TransVst to wrap my 3rd party plugins, but then none of them appear in the DAW when I bring it up. In fact, I'm not seeing hardly anything there. I'm not able to insert a drum sampler into the drum track, not able to insert any VST synths into any tracks in the generic Drum and Bass template project. I can import sounds, just no plugins. The TransVst installs itself into it's own separate folder on my HD, maybe that's the problem idk. Any ideas? I'd heard that Pro Tools was a step behind other DAWs in the MIDI department, but this is stupid. I should just go back to Cakewalk, I guess.

ProTools isnt your problem. TransVST isnt ProTools, and isnt part of ProTools.
Chase up Sugarbytes who actually made it, find an alternate wrapper solution, or install the AAX versions of your plugins.
Also not sure how a nonworking third-party VST wrapper gets interpreted as PT being a step behind in the MIDI department.

You can also check out using Bluecat Audio Patchwork for wrapping VST stuff into PT.
I use Patchwork a lot in VST domain at least and works really well.
- there is an AAX version that loads VST AFAIK
Patchwork has an FX component and an VSTi component to use both for effects and synths.
What to me makes PT behind is that it does not have undockable mixer to place on second monitor. You have to expand workspace to both monitors and size things from there.

I DL-ed the MT-PowerDrumKit AAX plugin, placed it into C:\Program Files\Common Files\Avid\Audio\Plug-Ins (AAX), opened Pro Tools, and under AudioSuite, it's not there. Even though Momentum is right there in the same folder and shows up under AudioSuite in the Program, no dice. There's no synth rack, no way to install a plugin from the track, It's the simplest thing in the world and Pro Tools won't let me do it. I don't get it.

Uninstall it and try something else.

Firstly, not every AAX plugin functions as an AudioSuite plugin. And AudioSuite menu is for offline processing, only effects plugins, (or rare instrument plugins which also register as being effects) show up there.Moe Shinola wrote: βWed Feb 14, 2024 2:49 am I DL-ed the MT-PowerDrumKit AAX plugin, placed it into C:\Program Files\Common Files\Avid\Audio\Plug-Ins (AAX), opened Pro Tools, and under AudioSuite, it's not there. So not sure why you're looking in AudioSuite menu - all the info you would be able to find on using instrument plugins would show you that you need to insert the plugin via a track insert slot...
