Are damaged studio monitors a safety hazard?

One of my Adam A7's was dropped a while ago. It generally seems to work well, but when I turn it off I heard a brief burst of static/hum. Could this indicate something that might cause an electric shock hazard? Is this something you should be concerned about w.r.t. studio monitors in general (electric shock hazard)?

I'd be more concerned about fire risk. If it was dropped, you should either check it out yourself or have a tech check it out if you are not equipped to do it yourself.

Thanks for the info. I'm trying to find a tech who can work on this, not having much luck in my area. The damage occurred around 9 years ago, I'm thinking maybe if it were a fire/electric-shock hazard it would have manifested already, maybe? Hopefully?
