I've already been posting the instrumental version of this one but now there are some nice vox on it and I remixed and remastered it a bit... :-D

Any comments?

Hmm... I think I've heard this before.

Pretty cool! How'd you get the vocals? Did you write the lyrics? I can't really understand them, but they seem nice.

I really really like the wah guitar. The percussion is really the only part that I don't like much - it's ok, just a little unpleasant. The synths are a little raw for my tastes, as well.

Overall it seems to be very well-produced - the mastering kind of reduces everything in favor of the lyrics too much, imo, though.

Obviously inspired by my handle! Stop biting my style biatch! ;)
Life IS short, enjoy.

 forgot to reply onece again...

thanks, Rellik :-D

yes, it's a bit 'edgy' but that's how I like it...

about the vox gain:

when I've been posting songs in the past people often mentioned that the vocals weren't loud enough - now it tends to be the other way around :?

I guess I still have to learn to balance them properly but it's not that easy, as there is always so much music going on below them in my tracks... :help:

are you kidding or are you being serious? :?

Do you know how long I am around here? :P

Yes, it does hurt that I only get a single reply for a three minute song I've been working on for about two weeks... :( :?

Post

shouldnt let it get to you at least no ones told you your a waste of space :p
anyway now you have my attention(as to be honest ive been a little busy of late)
it has a certain something style wise but i feel it loses a lot in the mix,it seems to be quite flat to my ears :?
id get some vocal tips from the likes of donks he always manages to get his vocals out of the mix without the loudness factor :)
but nice little pop tune reminds me of evanesance kind of thing,as you know not really my thing but still a good piece :)
now stop whingin before you water your beer down ;)
:ud:

i just saw this thread now, you know i listen to your stuff ;)

personally i think the percussion is the strong part of the track, and i like that it's edgy 8)

not my favourite of yours, i kind of miss the beauty in this one, usually you have some sort of contrast in your songs, in this one everything is high energy and edgy, there are no fairytale-melodies and no soft vocals.

still quite nice musically, just not as emotionally grabbing.

and i have to agree, vocals are a bit loud, not way too loud, but loud.

Well done. Catchy, but no real "hook", or counterpoint. Good vocals, a tad loud at times. Good job. :)

she's hard to understand and has a bit of an accent but I like the tune... and her voice...

good one

Starts out really well. Powerful, controlled and confident vocals. Me like. Squarewave at 0.57 min. is waaay too old school for my taste, especially as you consider the drums have a quite new sound to them. Phat bass line at 1.53 min.
Drums really cool as well apart from the hihat/percussion (16th). They are a bit too static.
But definately one of the best vocals I've heard on KVR (I don't care much for male vocals tbh.) She sounds really mature, in a good sense.
The song ends a bit abrupt though. Took me by surprise.

Yes that's sad. Here's my reply. I love your work (but haven't listened to this one yet :P). btw. I only got four replies for a tune that I had worked on an entire afternoon... But I was begging really hard :D

It's always confusing... If nobody replies, are they quiet because it sucks? or because this just didn't like the style? (And it's even more sad when people start replying without listening first  )

Well, in my case (for Hans music too which I listened to over at Wusik) it's simply that I am not often enough at KVR  .
I like your music VERY well as you know, and so I don't mind that the vocals are indeed not easy to understand (I love some pieces of which I don't understand the vocals, as the voice itself is that nice).

As Armadillo said the drums are very nice. Well and to me the hihats are not THIS static. Very nice song, and I think you should definitely go on (hey you need my advice for this, I'm sure  ) with this MUCH going on in the songs, that makes them very good. So it might be a bit of a problem to get the vocals right in the mix if you don't want them to be heard like an instrument alone.
Fine work! There is a special Jens-style, and I like it.

This song has a great groove and very strong vocals. The rythm feels good, and is varied as well, and the drums and bass really drive the song, giving the singer space to do her job. With her strong voice you have a very good combination. It would be nice to have the vocals always clear in the mix, to understand the lyrics. Right now I wasn't sure if the lyrics are in Deutsch or in English, except for the high mountain and the deep ocean.

IMO there is room for improvements, if you're going to work on this again. The strong panning from the intro could be used again later in the song. (If it already is, I missed it). That would give a sense of recognition and even more unity. And as Armadillo said, the lead sound at 1.10 doesn't sound very powerful, maybe you could combine the harsh lead from the intro there. I'll leave it to experts to respond to the mix, it's sounds a bit bass-heavy to me, and I'd love to hear the vocals clearer.

You're a sneaky guy, aren't you? Finally I find out who's responsible for the download count at my wusik site ;)
