Here's another experiment I made with samples from Julie's Scats collection.

I took a jazz drumkit and made a kind of slightly disarticulated tribal jazz beat. I added some Julie's samples on top of it.

What do you think?

She is beautiful. can't get enough of her voice really. I'm gonna have to slap her onto the next track i'm working on...she'll fit right in. i'll post it when it's finished.

That's certainly disarticulated!

Post

It just sounded so beat that I thought I would disarticulate Alan Ginsburg.

Ah! the Beat generation.

Anyone else wishing to comment? Is it too disarticulated? Not enough?

Post

Whether you like it or not, I would really like to have some more comments on that one!

Pretty cool. You could convince me it was legitimately some scat-scene in DT Montreal with a little crowd noise and a little less overlap on a couple phrases. :)

Thanks for the comment Plunge!

You are jamming now man. Very Jazzy and it sounds really cool :)

Great, of course I  the Julie samples but I'm also very fond of that drum kit.

Post

really nice,

just as plunge wrote there are some overlap
of samples (mostly one at 0.32) which make the vocals a little unrealistic,

the drums is cool and very good sounding,
maybe the floor tom could play more sparsely,

best demo of the pure scat samples so far

Post

Thanks Liqih,

I will check that overlap, though it's not really an overlap, it's an early (very early) reflection :hihi:

I will look into the floor tom too.
