crusher-X and Star Wars ?

It seems that there is a rumor (i got plenty mails regarding this) that crusher-X was used in the soundtrack of the new star wars film. They used a lot surround granulation sounds that could definitely created by the crusher. What do you think?

But i have no official confirmation that this is true. If someone knows more about it, please let me know...

Haven't seen the film, but it wouldn't surprise me, as the crusher is ideally suited for sci-fi futurism.

BTW, I'm working on two film soundtracks at the moment that also feature much use of crusherX (lower profile films than Star Wars, unfortunately).

Good luck for that! It seems that the film soundtrack people becomes more and more interesting in using of enhanced surround effect tools! That is great because the possiblity of hearing surround sound in good quality is nearly only available in cinemas.

Currently working on 'Hallowed Halls', shooting in the Sherbrooke/Drummondville (Quebec) area in August, directed by Dominic Marceau, starring Emily Perkins (who you may know from the 'Ginger Snaps' films, very cool girl) and Serge Houde (most recently seen in the Canadian indie 'Manners of Dying' which was very well received at Cannes this year). The film itself is both a parody of and a heartfelt tribute to the classic '80's teen slasher flick, set in 1985, and apart from my themes and incidental music (which are also a tribute to classic 80's scores, with a large nod to John Carpenter in particular) will also contain a few surprises from other artists. 'Halls' will most likely get a wide release in US and Canadian theatres through a large independent studio which shall remain nameless.
Next up after that will be 'House of Darkness', which was supposed to shoot in spring, but the script needed tinkering so it's been pushed back. I'll also be scoring 'Lot 241', which is in rewrite mode right now and which has been described as 'Dawn of the Dead meets Phone Booth'.

Anyway, sorry to hijack the thread Joerg, and back to our regularly scheduled program.
