JCM900 by Simulanalog is by far the best so called "unheard of" amp sim there is.
If you haven't tried it yet you are in for a huge surprise. (no GUI but the sound is great)

Wink

You can also try Free Amp SE:

and ReValver (DX and DXI only) by:

The Simuanalog JCM900 is SCARY good in it's simulation. Very transparent and "real" sounding. I've heard and played LOTS of Marshalls in my time, and this plugin has that indefineable "it" factor. Plus, by adding their TubeScreamer sim to the front-end, I can get some BRUTAL metal tones: very versatile. I own Amper and AmpliTube, but lately this fantastic freebee is becoming my "go-to" amp sim.

The Tube Driver TD-1X effect from the X-Amp dudes in front of a cleanish Simulanalog Rednef amp gets nice tasty dirt as well.

All very sweet stuff, didnt have much luck with getting the QuantumFX to sound very good at all. but oh well.

i liked them all for there own stuff though, seems like with each one i could get a different whole sound if i added a few modulation or distortion or something to each one. i gotta agree with you guys though putting a tube driver on either of the Simuanalog amps is always a good result i have lots of fun with those definatly need a noise gate alot of times but still good stuff. im still yet to find one that can get like a good clean but distorted sound though, like a mesa boogie, or just a real mic'ed amp i guess.but isnt that the ever saught after goal by everyone haha oh well, soon haha.

The JCM900 is still probably one of the greatest Amp sims out, amazing that its free. i dream at night of Simuanalog making more amp sims as good as this. But i seriously doubt it haha

Annywayz all good amps guys, keep em comin if you got em!

I also prefer the JCM900 and it's accompanying plugins over Guitar Rig. But sometimes I really can't be arsed and I just wanna jam my stress out ... that's when I fire up Guitar Rig and pretend to be Hendrix. Laughing
