Product: CVPiano (Continuous Velocity Piano)
Developer: Tascam
Type: Piano / Keys
Price: Free
OS: WindowsMac OS XUniversal Binary
Formats: VST
Continuous Velocity Piano is based on spectral morphing. Eliminating the need for many bulky, discrete sample layers, spectral morphing technology produces continuous, spectral variation by processing only a single baseline sample velocity. Using the baseline as a starting point, the spectral morphing filters then dynamically interpolate frequency characteristics, which can then be continuously morphed during and after musical notes are played. The result is far greater musicality with over ten times the amount of dynamic expression. Another benefit is that instruments are much smaller in memo... [more]

Product: GigaPulse
Developer: Tascam
Type: Reverb
Price: $299
OS: Windows
Formats: VST
GigaPulse is Tascam's first VST plug-in for Windows. Using convolving technology, which essentially "samples" a room or acoustic body, GigaPulse can emulate any room, vintage EQ or microphone. GigaPulse goes beyond most convolving reverb plug-ins with its built-in mic modeling, which can change the quality of the reverb recording or can be used on its own to add vintage microphone warmth to your recordings. The user can select the position of the sound source in the room with a 2-dimentional grid, the perfect effect for orchestral arrangements and other spacious mixes. And Tail Extension tec... Product: GigaViolin
Developer: Tascam
Type: Strings / Orchestral
Price: $129
OS: WindowsMac OS XUniversal Binary
Formats: VST
GigaViolin fuses the realism of sampling with the power of convolution-based modeling to "redefine what is possible from a sample library". GigaViolin takes advantage of the processing power offered by GigaStudio to create a realistic solo violin. The convolution-based body resonance technology takes a raw bowed string sample and uses GigaPulse technology to model a varied selection of rich, vintage violin bodies. The result is realism with notes that naturally decay, and expressive performance possibilities - including dynamic portamento & vibrato, and changing bowing articulat... [more]

American Zither is powered by Tascam's GVI (Giga Virtual Instrument). A Zither is a stringed instrument having usually 30 to 40 strings over a shallow horizontal soundboard and played with pick and fingers. However, the American Zither library were performed not with pick or fingers, but with wooden mallets. Zithers come from many different cultures. They represent such a fundamental concept in string instrument design that it is not uncommon for many types to come from one area. Numbers of strings can vary widely, various sizes and shapes exist (add some frets and you've got a guitar, for ex... [more]
