Tascam has announced the Giga Virtual Instrument (GVI), the first plug-in sampler instrument powered by the Giga sampling engine.

Receptor with Komplete 5 Inside

Giga Virtual Instrument shares many of the specifications of GigaStudio 3, such as unlimited polyphony, 96kHz/24-bit sample support and embedded GigaPulse convolution. GVI runs as a 16-part multi-timbral plug-in instrument in both VSTi and RTAS formats on Windows.

Those who want to create new libraries from scratch or get into even deeper instrument editing can upgrade to GigaStudio 3 Orchestra, which also features the zero-latency Kernel performance, GigaPulse Pro processing and sophisticated mixing features.

Tascam GVI will be available in the Spring of 2006 with an MSRP of $399. A Mac version is in development.
