Plughugger releases "White Wolf" for Spectrasonics Omnisphere

Plughugger has announced the release of White Wolf, a hardware centric soundset for Omnisphere based on three pieces of hardware from Akai: Timbre Wolf (polyphonic analog synthesizer), Rhythm Wolf (drum machine) and Tom Cat (drum machine).

Plughugger approached the sound design on this soundset with the goal of creating vintage electronica sounds from the 70s and 80s inspired by artists such as Jean-Michel Jarre and Tangerine Dream.

The majority of the sounds is synths and keyboards, arpeggios and sequences and synth strings and pads.

Apart from the vintage electronic sounds, as a sonic counterpart, Plughugger also processed a handful of sounds through a Sherman Filterbank, and built 70+ extra sounds around these. These sounds are a bit harsher and nastier, while still keeping one foot in the early days of old analog synthesizers.

White Wolf contains 239 sounds all in all:

    • 28 Drum & Percussion.
