iZotope has announced that it has licensed a suite of effects and noise reduction plug-ins to Studio Six Digital, developer of iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch audio apps and accessories. Based on iZotope's mixing, mastering and restoration plug-ins, the suite will be integrated into Studio Six's AudioTools app to provide professional-grade audio processing.

Studio Six Digital will sell the iZotope plug-ins in three different add-on packages to their AudioTools platform: reverb and delay, EQ and compression, and noise reduction. Once purchased, the plug-ins will be available in the AudioTools Stereo Recorder module, as well as the Monitor module. Users will have access to parameters to tailor the response, also allowing for parameters to be stored in user presets. The app will ship with several common presets for each effect.

When used with the iAudioInterface, the AudioTools iPhone platform becomes a professional-grade recording device, and can even be used as an inline effects processor. "iZotope is leading the pro audio industry in providing studio quality DSP for integration into apps running on lightweight, mobile platforms such as the iPhone and iPad," explained Alex Westner, Business Development Manager at iZotope. "We are excited to see our technology assist in taking a mobile recording platform to the next level."

The noise reduction plug-in, coming next month, will be a true two-pass noise reduction process, and can be used even with the built-in iPhone mic to remove system noise and clean up recordings. The effects plug-ins are priced from $5.99 to $9.99. EQ/compression and reverb/echo will be available in AudioTools 2.5, which will be available mid-November, 2010.
