User Reviews by KVR Members for DSK Brass
DSK puts out some good products. I've used Garritan Personal Orchestra and Miroslav Philharmonik, and I still find this useful, especially on more pop or other style recordings.
The brass are very realistic, especially for a synth (I'm not sure if these are samples or synths, but they sound good enough to be samples). The articulations are pretty good as well. The sounds are pretty 'in your face'.
I have had some issues with performance. In FL studio there are a lot of pops and crackles when using this plug in. I've also used it in reaper however without the pops and crackles, however, it can crash your host somewhat regularly.
You can get some really great sounds if you layer a few different horns played individually but the same part on different tracks, it sounds pretty realistic.
Compared to Miroslav, I would say these are in the same ballpark as far a realism, and they will cut through a mix much better if you need the horns to be out front. Overall a decent product other than the performance issues.
