kFootsteps is a library programmed for Kontakt 4 and above aimed to aid sound editors and foley artists in their process of adding footsteps to a scene.
The user will no longer have to record, cut and synchronize footsteps (which many times is a secondary, yet very tiring thing to do) and on the contrary, with the help of a MIDI controller (or even with mouse clicks!), he'll be able to take care of the talent's steps in an extremely reduced amount of time. This way, he'll have plenty of time to take care of what's important in his project.
The Library gives the opportunity to the user to choose from a different amount of pairs of shoes over different surfaces.
As an example of combinations, the user is able to choose among pairs of shoes such as flip flops, trainers or heels over surfaces such as tiles, waste ground or carpet.
Each combination will give the user 66 different samples distributed as follows:
- 12 samples: Walking slowly (CYAN KEYS).
- 24 Samples: Walking normally (BLUE KEYS).
- 12 Samples: Running (GREEN KEYS).
- 12 Samples: General emotes (YELLOW KEYS).
- 6 Samples: Jumping (RED KEYS).
kFootsteps is 100% free and, for keeping the project alive, there is an option for the user to donate small amounts of money.
The idea is to initially offer every sample at a resolution of 16-44 and as donations are received from people who appreciate this project, the samples will be added to the library at their maximum resolution (24-48) so that everyone can use them for free.
If a user needs a specific pair of shoes or surface, there is also the option of requesting them and having them included.
New pairs of shoes and new surfaces will be periodically added for free in order to make the library bigger and even more helpful.
We hope you appreciate our hard work (even harder when done for free), download the library and try it out! It would be great to know kFootsteps is being used.
