Great explorations. Really my cup of coffee here. Your sound design blows my mind, Rick. Do I hear a reverb in there?
Just fantastic levels and layers in this. Nice work.

thanks, jazzy! :-) (where have you been?) yes, there's reverb here 'n there. it's built into the reaktor ensemble i used to make the percussion layers, Topinambur, by dieter zobel. ;-)

You're not known for your use or love of reverb, so I took a cheap shot.
I really dig this. I nabbed that ens, but haven't had a chance to explore it yet. I have been trying to compile an album using my best tracks of the last few years and doing some production/writing for several projects. I'm even a ghost writer for an up and coming female-fronted alt rock/metal band here in Seattle. I promise I'm keeping it arty though.

Late night listen - reminds me of a poem by Yeats:
Here we will moor our lonely ship
And wander ever with woven hands,
Murmuring softly lip to lip,
Along the grass, along the sands,
Murmuring how far away are the unquiet lands:
always a pleasure, rachmiel
Here we will moor our lonely ship
And wander ever with woven hands,
Murmuring softly lip to lip,
Along the grass, along the sands,
Murmuring how far away are the unquiet lands:
always a pleasure, rachmiel
..what goes around comes around..

Lovely! I was just twisting percussive sounds myself last night.

I enjoyed this very much. Thanks.
I'm behind on commenting on things, and since I'd only say "I enjoyed it, thanks" or thereabouts I'll say here instead of in each piece's thread that I've been enjoying all the stuff you've been posting (probably "night" most of all). So thanks for all of those too.

;-) i have nothing against reverb ... in a cathedral or the grand canyon. ;-)Jazzyspoon wrote:You're not known for your use or love of reverb, so I took a cheap shot. ;)
it's one of my favorite zobel ensembles, really unique in its treatment of a percussion sample map.I nabbed that ens, but haven't had a chance to explore it yet.
album: cool. :-) ghost writing: as long as you don't go emo on us. ;-)I have been trying to compile an album using my best tracks of the last few years and doing some production/writing for several projects.
