thanks, but why isn't this fully explained in the manual?
please, Greg, remember that some of us are not native English speaker, and that [illustrated] written material is sometimes easier to grasp than speech in a movie...
...especially since it's so much easier to rewind!
- are layers allowed to overlap?
- if so, what happens when parameters settings are conflicting?

In case layers overlap on a certain enabled parameter, it prefers the highest numbered layer.rockbottom wrote:thanks, but why isn't this fully explained in the manual?or do we have to find out by the old trial and error method?

okay; so: no interpolation, no crossfading, ever?

No, it will select one layer or the other based on their order. Think about it as if it's a Z order, maybe that comparison will help.rockbottom wrote:okay; so: no interpolation, no crossfading, ever?
Remember, that only applies to parameters that are enabled. For example, even if a note event meets all the conditions, but a certain parameter isn't enabled to be affected by that layer, it will keep searching down the list of layers until it finds a layer that both meets the note event's conditions, as well as having an enabled value to be affected for that parameter.

hmm, yes: breadth-first traversal - makes sense!

There was a detailed explanation of how the layer system works in the old Strawberry manual--I'll have to copy it into Evolution Electric Guitar's user guide also. You might also check out the tutorial videos for Mind Control, since that uses the same layer-based mapping system:rockbottom wrote:hmm, yes: breadth-first traversal - makes sense!
