Connect devices by dragging "wire" from output to input?

Is it possible to connect two devices by dragging a wire from output to input with mouse? Every other software with this sort of "modules and wires" visual representation I've tried have worked this way.

Tried the obvious ctrl, shift, alt and their combinations, but none of them worked for this. Using the rclick menu feels ankward...

Hah, my bad. It just doesn't draw the line while dragging, only after the connection has been made. Very very bad ui design imo :)

it's not bad design , xt just choose to not -animate- this routing process
so it uses minimal cpu , were not talking 'reason' type fancy graphic effects here (and for the better of it):)

No need for anything fancy like in Reason. Just simple line from output/input button to mouse cursor or color change for the button or any other user feedback that confirms that something is actually happening.

Fancy graphics and feedback for user input are two totally different things.
