I may have missed something but....

Is there only one way of triggering slide mode? I would like to be able to use the pedal for a longer slide mode and trigger shorter (1-3 semitone) slides with a keyswitch. Is this possible? I have a workaround but it involves using a slider along with the pedal or a keyswitch along with the pedal, rather than a single keyswitch which makes it harder to use in real time.

I see what you mean--if the slide mode toggle could be accessed by the layers rather than as a separate definable CC #, you would be able to do what you're describing. Currently, the only way to achieve multiple slide modes is to use separate keyswitches or controllers to change other variables, such as the legato range for longer slides.
However, if your sustain pedal is set up to receive values between 0-127, and not just toggling between 0 and 127, you could make it so that half-pedaling / full pedaling would alter the possible slide distance, if that helps at all.
