Hi guys,
I just came across this excellent video tutorial that shows you how to get a great guitar tone for powerchords and such, using freeware plugins only. The guitar I sampled for the Evolution Electric Guitar Strawberry sample library for KONTAKT is very similar to the one he's using in the video--albiet his strings are a little deader, so you could simulate that by decreasing the high frequencies, though that might not even matter since it's going through all the distortion and whatnot.
