My guess would be a refined RMVIPeter from LinPlug wrote: In fact we currently work on the next version of another product of us which will have less features (and much higher usability). More is not always better

I split this topic from the Octopus update question where it initially came up in case you want to go on guessing. I guess we will post some info soon, maybe with the November newsletter. As i said in the original thread, more is not always better and from our users feedback I found something where we can apply this and thus improve the product with less features. How this ? Well, remove whats not needed, redo the GUI so that important parts are better accessible, join pages into one where (due to removed features) no longer multiple pages are required and so on ... When the idea came up I was almost instantly ready to toss it as "complete nonsense" ... but it makes much more sense than one initially might believe.
Of course this Upgrade (or better Crossgrade ?) will also have new features, but overall, the product is getting slimmer

I hope it is for CronoX. I've had it for years but never used it on anything.

Well, thats an interesting statement, Aloysius, why that ? Its exactly what we look for, feedback on useability, please lt us know. This however applies to all products of course, and as our products share certain features its also interesting for our current makeover.Aloysius wrote:I hope it is for CronoX. I think it needs a serious makeover.Peter from LinPlug wrote:Well, thats an interesting statement, Aloysius, why that ? Its exactly what we look for, feedback on useability, please lt us know. Not a very technical reply I guess. Not everything is about zeros and ones.

It is really great to have an improved GUI, as I would appreciate this on Octopus. But can you please, please not remove any features? Better add some more features. Come on, all of you are great people in a great company. You don't need to strip down features to make things better, you all are capable of more than that.Peter from LinPlug wrote:I split this topic from the Octopus update question where it initially came up in case you want to go on guessing. I suggest that you implement an "easy mode" instead of stripping things off. Or provide an "essentials" version and "full" version of the plugins. Current users will like the improved GUI, but definitely not parred down features for the "full", next update version

i'm very interested in a synth modules only version of RMV as an add on (not as a replacement) and i'd pay for it (license owner of RMV already).

If, one day there is to be an update of Octopus, there is one thing I'd love to see - that's the ability to zoom into the amplitude and phase 'windows' for more detailed control over waveforms. Other than that, it's pretty much the perfect FM synth for all my needs
