Well, Elfman, I think not.
Elfman always writes with those 'circus' type scales. Don't hear any in that.
You do have an adequate bounce to your rhythm, (ala Elfman), but the tempo is a bit slower then he usually used. (ala Oingo Boingo - "Little Girls" )

Can't say it did much for me. Maybe next time.

I quite enjoyed the tune, but I felt that there was a lot of HF interference between the percussion and the chip synth. Made it sound a little harsh.

Sometimes the rhythm and melody seem disjointed, and overall it has kind of a "90s dance remix of popular tune" feel, where people more or less added a 4 to the floor beat to whatever song. A part of the 90s I'd rather forget

The sounds aren't bad and the mix is decent, although a little smeared in the top (I didn't perceive it as harsh per se, but I hear what seismic is saying). It's just the whole concept that doesn't appeal much to me.

The sounds aren't bad and the mix is decent, although a little smeared in the top (I didn't perceive it as harsh per se, but I hear what seismic is saying). It's just the whole concept that doesn't appeal much to me.

I'm actually surprised it's not the bass that is smeared, I over-exaggerated the hell out of the low end, but I did my best to make sure it was clean and not too over-baring.
Perhaps that is why the high frequencies are all screwed up, because I was focusing on the lows, I got a little distracted from the highs. Well, I am doing some frequency clean up. I couldn't really find the problem with the percussion and the chips. When left alone it sounded fine to me, but some of the more "staticy" sounds did preoccupy a very similar range as the chips, so I went a head and and dropped the percussion's frequencies between 4000-5000
I did a something similar to the chips, and similar to the global as it seemed what a big problem was that almost all my instruments had a large emphasis in the 4k-6k range
I'll post a bump when I get the new version up - unless someone else replies to this topic by that time.

One sound in there is really ruining the track, it's that highpitched panning thing.

It sounds completely shifted off beat in a bad way totally ruining the rhythm of any part it's in, it competely distracts from anything else going on for me.

Just getting rid of it entirely would be a major improvement to me...

You're comments are always the most welcomed! Not that anyone else's isn't, but something about Remmie makes me feel honoured when he specifically responds to my music.
Anyways, the chips were a little dull and boring actually, since I didn't REALLY chip tune - as much as I dreamed that I did, that doesn't mean it is reality - so I used a distortion effect to really dirty up those sounds.

Glad responses are turning a little more positive. Constructive criticism isn't unwelcomed, but when it seemed like everyone was saying it wasn't their cup of tea (or I felt that way, though I tend to blow things out of proportion) I was worried this song was doomed for the bin.

I think it has to do with the percussion and chips. There are 2 percussion sounds that occupy the same frequency space as the chips do, and unless I wanted to change the percussion part completely (which I'll admit...I'm just too lazy to do) there isn't much further cleaning I can do in that range.

I have no idea what sound that is, I was particularly lazy with this song's stereo field, none of the sounds move through the stereo field they all stay static in their own respective part of the field (violins stay at 20% right, uprights 33% left, ect. Btw, I was just making up numbers, I don't remember their exact value or place int he field)

Well it's several very similar sounds then

It's a noise-like percussive thing. One of them seems panned hard right, one of them panned left and one almost center or something like that. And they're played in that order, over and over, for a major part of the song.
