I can testify that Simon can do that with any synth he touches! The man is very talented in all areas of music imo. His demos that he throws together in minutes sound better than pieces I work on for months! Excellence runs through all his work.

As Sampleconstruct wisely say, I also do not miss at all any features in Iris. The amazing fact is that it leads to creating new sounds in a moment, and this is also due to it simple and intuitive interface. More than focusing on factory presets (as we all use to do with new plugs), I immediately could dive into making lots of patches with Iris, and that's what I ask more from a plug dedicated to sound design.

Thank you Simon, I'm collecting lovely Iris patches (and some FM8 very delicate ones) and think I'll soon use them in a simple video, since my music is mainly dedicated to visuals... and Iris is of course "a joy of details" for such a job.
I'll post something next week or so

Thank you all, guys - the amount of overwhelmingly positive feedback I'm getting in this thread and elsewhere in the last days is - well - overwhelmingly overwhelming

And it sure makes it a bit harder to currently devote so much of my time to composing orchestral music rather than concentrating fully on my sounddesigning activities. Although the composing part is very fulfilling as well...the light at the end of the tunnel is much further away though than when designing a soundset for a given instrument. A 40 minute long orchestral score is just a monster, like climbing Mount Everest.

I think Simon is selling a lot of copies of Iris by showing how the software has unlocked his creativity. And it's inspiring the rest of us who own Iris. So they are so tightly interlinked that separating them would cause some sort of fission reaction.
