Just wondering, and I hope so. Some of my favorites are Synthedit based.

Well I found this on the Synth-answers.com site:

Quote:
SE is still x86 (32 bit) application and our plug-ins are 32-bit too. Jef said that x64 version is in development now.

So I guess that is some official confirmation. I hope it is not too hard for devs to create a 64 bit version of existing apps once a 64 bit Synthedit is available.

Probably will come, but old developers won't necessarily want to redo their old modules to be compatible with the new version.

Yeah, that's what I assume too, but I have a few synths from active developers that I am guessing will do it ASA they can.

That's the real issue - most people who develop in SE don't stick around much, so with almost anything out today your best plan is to just live with it at 32.

I wouldn't hold out too long for 64bit SE either, Jeff stated somewhere that he would start work on it after SE v1.2 was out....which still isn't out.

EDIT - Here it is -> http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=347465&highlig ht=

Synthedit 1.2 is already potentially compatible with x64 and OSX - GUI apart.
The 'Save as x64' feature is missing (Jeff stated about 3-4 months of work to add it), and he said he's looking for a OSX GUI library to start OSX conversion.

Latest SDK is 64bit-compatible too.

Cool! Thanks for the detailed update! I am a while off buying a 64 bit machine myself, but its nice to know it is coming, that's the important part to me Wink

Probably not, even SE 1.1 hasn't worked fully yet for me. I don't like how you have to uninstall before each new beta install, that caused my computer problems before.

One install didn't have working patch memory modules.

One install couldn't take a pitch envelope(drum synth), then I built the same thing in Se 1.0, loaded it in 1.1, and somehow it worked. Doesn't make sense.
