We are proud to release Plectra Series 1: 8-string Acoustic Bouzouki, the first instrument in a new series of picked, plucked and strummed instruments from around the world. Designed and produced by Dimitris Plagiannis, this exquisite library covers the Greek bouzouki in previously unheard-of depth with multiple dynamics, round robins, articulations, intelligent scripting and deep customization.
The 8-string acoustic bouzouki is an excellent instrument for both solo and rhythmic playing in any style, from traditional Greek music to film, TV and game scores, pop, rock and more. Its bright strings and resonant body allow it to cut through a mix when necessary or provide harmonies and rhythmic backing; either way, it's a real joy to simply load and play. Even though there are numerous customization options and keyswitches available, one need only load either the Close or Room patch and simply begin playing to get a great result.
Note: This library was originally released by Handmade Sounds, but it is now exclusively part of our catalog and we're very pleased to be working with Dimitris on this and future releases! Existing customers will receive a refund of $10 as we've lowered the price of the library AND added additional content in the form of a new stereo room mic position.
Features:
* Over 3,000 24-bit WAV samples
* Kontakt 4 format
* Multiple dynamics and strokes (RRs)
* Close and room mic positions
* Advanced, intelligent scripting
* All 8-strings sampled and selectable
* Hammer-on, pull-off and legato slides
* Tremolo and pitch bends
* Sampled chord strums (major and minor, multiple voicings)

Nice and very authentic! That's a huge compliment coming from me BTW because you can't escape bouzouki music here in Cyprus (obviously).
I'll be getting this soon. I remember this being sold from Handmade Sounds but then I read your thread and it all made sense!

Any idea where, under the hood (wrench), in Kontakt.. I can tweak the tremolo speed for this "Acoustic Bouzouki"?
Or is that controlled in some script (I can't really get to) somewhere?
Would like to use this for my Death Metal project.. but the tremolo's gotta match my Electr6ity patches speed at 1/32.
Would appreciate any info regarding this.

...also, I can't get the 'Reverb' settings to stick in the Effects section. No matter what I change them to, they revert back to the original (stock) settings, after I either recall the patch.. or load the song (that the instrument is saved to) back into my DAW.
All the other stuff, in the 'Effects' and 'Settings' tab remembers my saved settings though, no problem.. it's just the reverb that hates me.

I'm using the 'Close' mic'd version by the way.
If I turn Off the reverb and save it, then reload it.. it shows that it is still Off, graphically (button is dark).. but it is still clearly On (can still hear its on), so I have to double click it to turn it fully off, again.
Unfortunately I have to do this for every instance of the instrument in a project, every time I call up a song with them in it. Sort of a workflow killer when I need to recall a mix multiple times to tweak the master.. and have to add this step.
Anyone else having this issue? If I could figure out a way to automate the reverbs on off button I'd go that route.. but no luck there either.
Any help appreciated.

My apologies for the delay, I've been away on vacation since the 16th with infrequent internet access! The designer + programmer of the library, Dimitris, has solved the issue. You can find the patch update here:

Just bought it, very nice demos, by I'm getting a corrupt download in parts 2 and 3, although I downloaded 2 times each file (same error each time). I sent an email to support, just thought I'd also mention it here.
Cheers!

Sorry for the trouble - we'll get that sorted out asap. The files on our side are definitely not corrupt (as lots of people have downloaded them properly) but sometimes the connection between downloader and server can get interrupted and cause your browser to think the file has completed when it really hasn't. At some point, we'll be switching to a system that will verify file integrity and allow for pause/resume.

Problem solved. This is the answer I gor later yesterday:
"...With our archives, you should only need to extract the first .RAR file of each set--the rest should extract automatically. Trying to extract the other individual .RAR files will result in corrput data messages. Check the contents of the successfully extracted file to see if it seems like anything is missing. However, if the first .RAR extracted without any errors, chances are it worked just fine..."
Silly me, I was extracting all three parts separately, not noticing that after extracting the first part, the resulting folder was way too big to be just the first part decompressed.
So all is great!
PS: a readme file with installation instructions included in the download might help

Hey progtronic, funny seeing you here.progtronic wrote:Would like to use this for my Death Metal project.. but the tremolo's gotta match my Electr6ity patches speed at 1/32.
Not to hijack this thread but...I've stalked you around the internet just a tad. Looking forward to more of your work. Most of what I've listened to is your remix stuff, and some of your awesome keyboard stuff on your Evolve record. Keep up the fantastic work!
