I love my ME80, I was a little worried how it would fare with JBridge but it is great. I don't worry about Synthedit, that isn't problem.

Another + for the ME80 is the easy install, no passcode, no copy protection, it really truly feels like you own it. Just another thing to consider, I appreciate that very much, no worries about number of activation or buggy copy protection, it just simply works.

I recently upgraded to the V-Collection 3. I'm really psyched about trying out the CS-80V. The real CS-80 has amazing, legendary aftertouch implementation. I haven't noticed this in the presets I've tried yet though, and I also don't recall seeing the factory presets in there if I remember correctly...

It had polyphonic aftertouch and unless you're keyboard has it (very few has) you won't get the whole CS 80 experience.

I recall the ME80 has polyphonic aftertouch, it even says somewhere 'don't buy this unless you use aftertouch!' my current keyboards sadly don't.

The sound of ME80 will remind you of an acoustic instrument. It sounds synthetic, but has the expression of a real instrument.

You can shape the tone with aftertouch like you would do on a brass instrument. The velocity feels very alive with a separate velocity-envelope that took 1 year to develop. Different velocities will have totally different envelope shape. If you want arpeggiators on this synth you do not deserve to play it. The instrument takes practice to master, like a real instrument. Polyphonic aftertouch is supported, but you can select "last played" mode for the aftertouch, and you will have fake polyphonic response from your mono aftertouch keyboard.

So far I haven't noticed any aftertouch at all in the presets of the CS-80V, but I haven't spent much time with it.

I just looked at the CS-80v product page and it confirms it supports polyphonic aftertouch. If only the copy protection weren't so.... I'd give it a try. I was playing MS80 today though and it is so lovely I don't know that I'm missing anything. My main issue is my controller, that needs replacing definitely.

When I demo'ed it, ME80 sounds lovely and seems closer to the real deal to my ear, based on commercial recordings of real CS80s. Those may not be a very suitable reference though, as there are final processing involved.

Arturia CS80V has a much smoother ring modulator, IMO. That's what still sells it for me, and even though the sound is not as close, it still sounds lovely nonetheless. Lots of presets utilize aftertouch, but I don't think presets are that good on this one. CS80V has gone through at least two sound engine revisions, and those revisions broke existing presets. They no longer sound the way they were originally designed, making a lot of them unusable, IMO.

jrrshop
You have not seen the big banner "Killerkitty"?
"killerkitty" is also the name of the coupon code you must enter. This gives a discount of $20.79 so you have to pay only $78.21.

ah well, thanx a lot Smile

I might get me the analog factory plugin for that price.

Analog Factory will be $54.51 when you redeem the "killerkitty" coupon code.

btw, thanks everyone for the mention! Smile

Sort of. If you have V-Collection 3, you can use Analog Laboratory exactly like using the old Native Instruments Kore, in that you can load any of those synths into a familiar and accessible interface yet still have the ability to access the individual instruments for deeper editing if you choose. Personally, I think it's a fantastic feature, especially if you get one of the Arturia keyboards to control it.

The description of the CS80V says "more than 400 presets" for the single plug-in.
Analog Laboratory has for the CS80V 569 presets.
Same with Jupiter 8 which should have more than 400 presets, Analog Laboratory has 500 presets.
I would say there is a difference, Analog Laboratory has more presets.

Hi,
I have looked in your shop but I cannot find Analog Factory for this price (incl. coupon...). You could show me where to find it, please?
Thanks!

Thanks 4damid, I know the coupon procedure. But it seems that Analog Factory has vanished from the shop. For $58 I was thinking about haveing a closer look at it, although it is the "older" version with less presets.

Yes, I see it's not in the shop. Too cheap for Eric Razz

But the "Factory" is not only the older version with less presets. It has not the Oberheim SEM included and lacks the feature to edit the synth if the synth is also installed. Anyway, the price difference is not very big so I would think twice and not buying the Factory.
