Pretty damn impressive sounding. I don't own any 2CA gear, but that may be about to change.

I'll be a first time 2C buyer too, when and if I buy, that is.
I know you probably can't say for certain, but is it safe to say B2 won't be cheaper than this intro offer for the next year, for example if there are holiday or other sales?
Also, what are 2C's resale and license transfer policies? Yes, I looked on the new website. Maybe it was there in Latin, which is Greek to me, or something like that.

I bought Aether here at KVR second hand. There was a $50 transfer fee, and it became NFR. I would imagine that is still the case, although I haven't checked.

All of our customers are already deeply appreciated. But if we neglected to calculate all the various trajectories to get:Windsurfer25x wrote:Thanks Andrew, for considering it. Your customers would appreciate being appreciated!

from A to Y

After overcoming my initial disappointment ("aNother reverb"), I have to say I'm deeply thrilled by B2. It sounds awesome... love the distortion algos ("wood"!!), the topology, the overall sound. There's a lot of creative potential in there, to be sure. Thick or airy, solid or moving, it does it all in a highly usable, musical, unobtrusive manner.
Can't wait for the manual, though... those filter types are head-scratchers. Only real drawback for me right now is that I'm kind of disenchanted with Aether in comparison, but I'm sure I'll get back to it when the newness thing has passed.
This one's a keeper. Great work, guys. There goes my plugin money for August.

They are not really filter-types, in the sense that each has a specific or individual character. I think they are simply the same filter with various EQ curves, such that bp would stand for band-pass, Br stands for band-reject (notch), then you have a few Hi C and Lo C for hi-cut and lo-cut and then the addition of Hi and Lo Z which I think is just a major and sudden attenuation of corresponding freq (if you look at the graph). The Z curves are a nice addition IMO, short of being able to set the curves oneself BUT I would assume this affect the quality of the output if not done carefully and that is why there is a sort of pre-selection options.ariston wrote:.. those filter types are head-scratchers.
Don't be. It's not even the same animal so don't feel like you are losing a verb. Aether definitely still fills its post. Think nice hi-quality real spaces (with config) with very flexible damping and reflection mixing and such (but also able to be twisted up when desired!)Only real drawback for me right now is that I'm kind of disenchanted with Aether in comparison, but I'm sure I'll get back to it when the newness thing has passed.
You add a new one monthly? There goes my plugin money for August.

these are all full interviews in case you guys missed it. Good insights on using reverb and other production techniques in general...
We will add a bunch more over time...
Listen on this page: http://www.2caudio.com/products/theperfectstorm
How would one take a sound like that dry bee sound and get what is played in that example?
That is some sweet sound!
BTW, I am still considering b2

Andrew, thanks for that lengthy and highly informative post!Galbanum wrote:RE is it Breeze 2.0, or why is it not Aether 2.0, etc...
I agree, 2CAudio does know reverbs!
Great stuff, and thanks for considering our comments, complaints, whatever.
Don't let the uprgrade pricing whining fool you, we all love your work.

Yes, that "OH" demo is quite nice, for sure.snigelx wrote:Those audio demos are LUSH. Real talent. I couldn't hear the details of the verb for being lost in the tracks themmselves on a deeper non-technical level. That last demo on the page, titled "OH" just takes me out to space...nice.Galbanum wrote:a few quick points: 2) The audio demos...
I will continue to dive into the demo, I see Andrew said something about "evaluating," so I will wait a bit and see what the outcome is.
I'm very close to buying though, very nice indeed.

Given that there is medical marijuana, surely it's only a matter of time before there is sound engineer's marijuana and producer's marijuana - genetically engineered to reduce mixing anxiety.billcarroll wrote: My favorite bit of advice so far comes from Rik Simpson ...

Couple basic questions since ti might be a few days til I can try it out:
-How is cpu usage? Fair to say if you're using both engines that it's around twice that of breeze? Someone mentioned that it was fairly economical but that would put it up around Aether if my math is right.
-Do the extra effects (saturation, compression etc.) apply just to the reverb, or the dry signal as well? Just trying to figure out if it's a multi-effect or a reverb type effect where extra effects get applied to the verb.
