something I've just figured out - if you want to create multiple groups easily is to use Ctrl D in modular view - this is especially useful when you create one group and set up eqs/inserts and fader levels etc and also the output routing (eg to a "master group") - duplicating will also copy ALL of these settings - excellent!!

on the subject of groups and in response to previous threads - although it's fairly easy to add some instrument tracks and point the output/s to the group/s - it would be nice if groups also appeared in the sequencer window automatically
