Evolution Bluegrass Banjo not playing notes

First I want to say, I LOVE the true-to-life sound and available customizations of Evolution Bluegrass Banjo! I have no idea how to play a banjo so maybe this is why I am experiencing problems with notes not playing at all. Example, sometimes a G will play and other times the same G will not. Just playing one note at a time, not even in a chord, a note will just be mute and if I play it again, it will play. It seems to be hit or miss and not a velocity issue. I have searched online and in the manual and found nothing to help me troubleshoot this. If anyone has any ideas on how to resolve this I would very much appreciate it!
