How's everyone getting on with the Receptor?

Hello everyone. This Post is for those who have purchased a REceptor- I am wondering what people's experiences have been with it; More specifically, I am wondering about things like latency and stability....
How much like a hardware synth does the receptor behave? FOr instance, when the receptor hittng high CPU usage, does it become increasingly unstable, or emit cracks and pops, zippering, or other softsynth unpleasantness? Has anyone experienced seemingly random crashes or other stability problems in the course of normal operations (when using approved plug-ins)?? Is latency within unnoticable ranges (can you actually PLAY it as an instrument?), while still using it multitimbrally?
Just wondering...Very interested in the receptor, but still seems to good to be true.....

The Receptor's latency is on a par with a hardware synth. I compared it to many of my own, and posted the results here:

As you can see, the Receptor was faster than my Prophecy, which was sold as a lead synth. No trouble at all playing this thing live.

All in all, Receptor is coming along nicely for me. I edit it from my Mac using the remote. I have been using both the included plugs and some unsupported plugs (like the Computer Music and Krakli stuff). Pretty dang neat.

I have also copied all of my E-Mu Soundfonts as well as many of my own samples onto the hard drive. SFZ makes a great front end for Soundfonts. Neat.

I gotta plonk down the dough for the MTron Collection on Receptor soon!

Just going thru the factory patches I've noticed that the CPU usage can easily get too high- then I get cracks and pops. Would more RAM take care of that?

Thanks for the responses all....The hardware synth comparisons are a real help..I don't remeber feeling bogged down with the prophecy, so the latency part should be all good. SOunds like it's going pretty well..Though that last response worries me a bit...Clicks and pops have made me run screaming from softsynth land in the past, preferring to simply run out of voices when I run out of voices on my hardware, instead of having to adjust my system as I go along...Has anyone experienced clicks/pops/zippering, then alleviated them through additional RAM, latency settings?

Additional RAM helps a lot. So does setting a larger buffer size, but that increases latency. Some people may be happy even with the largest buffer size.

I'm definitely biased, since I work for Muse Research, but it seems to me that Receptor is very predictable. You should not experiment with new patches on stage, but if you set your patches in the studio and they don't crack, they will behave the same 99.9% of the time. Nothing is absolutely sure when you deal with plug-ins from many different companies.
