DX7 SYX import

Hi,
OK, I know it's a challenge. But it looks to me like DX7 FM synthesis can be realized in similar way in zynaddsubfx. There are tones of great DX7 syx dumps around - people are complaining about zynaddsubfx editing complexity and new instruments' lack. DX7 patches import could be solution for that problem in some degree.
Best regards

I think that is impossible to emulate all DX7 algorithms using ADsynth module (I think there are 32 algorithms), because zynaddsubfx is made different..
But, anyway. Do you consider that adding a complete DX7 emulator in zynaddsubfx will help? Can you post here some DX7 instruments links?

OK, You're right, import of DX7 patches isn't good idea, at least for now. In fact all I need is to spend more time with zynaddsubfx, "scrupulating" the sound - Your synth is powerful enough to properly simulate some of legendary DX7 sounds, just a small FM programming knowledge is required and btw. there are lots of tutorials around devoted this issue.
Thank You,

I think very good stuff to start with from practical side of the matter is DX-G 2.0 - this is free DX7 emulating ensemble working with SynC Modular (http://www.mtu-net.ru/syncmodular/; in unregistered SynC version sampler module used for EG is disabled but I've replaced it and now DX-G 2.0 output is audible; btw. I've also added pan feature for each operator) - You may check indepth structure of whole synthesizer!paulnasca wrote:Can you post here some DX7 instruments links?

Unfortunately DX-G's author site does not exists anymore so P2P network will be good solution here... anyway, I can e-mail You this ensemble if You're interested.
If You do not use Windows (nor WinE) then I will send You screen dumps of DX-G structure.
Best regards
