Tracktion 3 upgrade

Hi all, I have been a long time Tracktion user since its Version 1 days. I felt so comfortable with it that I left the interface as is and have not upgraded since!! Well I was now thinking of finally moving forward to Tracktion 3 and I see some really nice deals - 89 bucks for the ultimate bundle!!

I have a few questions that folks here can help me with.

- Will all my tracktion 1 projects move smoothly to Version 3 (including plugins)?
- Can I have both versions run simultaneously? (sounds silly but still
- Does anyone know the path Tracktion is headed? Why is the price dropped so much, are they discontinuing it? That seems like a damn good deal to pass.
- Finally, will Tracktion 3 run on quad core (or i5) processor while utilizing the multicore processor power and with Windows Live 7?

The last point is the primary reason I am looking to upgrade Tracktion. I am planning to upgrade my recording PC and thought I may need to simultaneously upgrade the software to fully utilize the power of PC.

To elaborate #3, Mackie/LOUD are on hard times right now and appear to have marginalized Tracktion for the moment. There are murmurings of an update to ensure full compatibility with Windows 7 and some (very) vague assurances that something will happen with Tracktion sometime in the (distant) future.

In your case, Tracktion 3 will be enough of an exciting upgrade that you should be happy for a while.

Thanks!! Some of my questions seems pretty obvious but good to hear another view from solid source.

I am reading all the mess in the other threads.. sorry to post same thing over again. It's unfortunate there isnt' a final direction from Mackie. That's what happens when a big company takes over a nice little product and makes a mess of it. Just imagine where Jules could have taken it in all these years had he been still on it...
