T4 has stopped starting

After trying to load an old (T2) project, my Tracktion refuses to even load. I get the Windows message that the program has stopped working while the program loads.
The strange thing is that Tracktion 4 initially worked and I could load some other old projects. Even EZdeummer worked.
But now I can't even start Tracktion.
I updated to the latest build (4.3.1), but it didn't help.
I'm on 64 bit Windows 7.
Any ideas?

Hi,
If you haven't already restart computer,if that doesn't work, uninstall T4 and re install. Not great solution, but can't see other option. I've had problems loading T2 projects poof crash almost immediately on trying to load soundfont.also forward and rewind transport buttons not working on certain projects 4.3.0 was ok but above on 4.3.1.
32 bit Xp sp3

Guys, please stop suggesting that anyone should uninstall/reinstall T4 - doing so is just a waste of time and electricity. For some apps, reinstalling may make a difference, but for tracktion I can categorically tell you that it will do nothing useful whatsoever. All that happens is that you remove the executable and then copy the same file back to the same place, which will change nothing.uninstall T4 and re install
(..I should add that of course in the future we may add things to the installer which make this advice invalid! At the moment I can't foresee that happening though)
The only way to reset it to "factory settings" is to delete/rename/move your tracktion settings file - that'll be found in
[home]/Library/Preferences/com.tracktion.Tracktion4/Tracktion.settings
C:\Users\jules\AppData\Roaming\Tracktion 4\Tracktion.settings
..bear in mind that this will lose all your audio settings, loaded projects, UI options, etc., which is why we don't remove it when you reinstall.
To the OP who's having these problems - please send us a tracktion log file, which might have some clues about what's going wrong. And deleting your settings file may help get things going.

Thanks Jules. I renamed the settings file and Tracktion is working now.jules wrote:Guys, please stop suggesting that anyone should uninstall/reinstall T4 - doing so is just a waste of time and electricity. But I haven't yet tested the project that caused the problem. Could it be Final Mix that causes it? During plugin scan it says Final Mix isn't a valid plugin and I think the problematic project uses Final Mix.

It could indeed be final mix or some plugin that's the culprit - if you look in your tracktion log file it might have some clues about what was crashing.

I looked through the log file and there are no errors, except a failure to find the Rewire DLL.jules wrote:It could indeed be final mix or some plugin that's the culprit - if you look in your tracktion log file it might have some clues about what was crashing.
The last line before it crashes is "Machine ID"
Comparing this to the log entry when it works (after I renamed the settings file), there are no differences, except that the latter continues with more entries.
Should I remove ASOI4all? (how?)
Should I deactivate Rewire (I don't use Reason)?
Should I deactivare the MS GS wavetable synth? (it was already deactivated, it turns out)

My apologies for the duff suggestion.

FYI this turned out to be a bug in EZDrummer, and the OP got it working by updating to the latest version of that plugin.
No apology needed! Reinstalling is one of the standard things to try, but in T4's case it's just not going to help!terrynoakes wrote:My apologies for the duff suggestion.
